Lan Xichen was back at the Cloud Recess.

Although it took some time, he had mended his relationship with his uncle, and explained why he did what he had to do. Though Lan Qiren was still 'recovering', he just tried to continue leading Gusu like he did before.

(Which made Lan Xichen happy because it was something to occupy his uncle's attention, and it also meant that he was doing fine since he was still able to yell at disciples without qi deviating)

Though he really wanted to stay with Jiang Cheng, he was still a Sect Heir, and so they made an arrangement, of visiting each other, taking turns going on land/going to the lake.

The day before Jiang Cheng's visit to Cloud Recess, Lan Qiren summoned Lan Xichen, and sat him down.

His had a delightful expression on his face, and he seemed to be in a good mood.

"Xichen, I received a very charming letter today, and it was from someone you met a long time ago. They wrote that they would like to meet you again." "Oh?" Lan Xichen raised an eyebrow, "who is it?" He lifted his cup, and drank his tea.

"I believe Li-Yun is her name-"

Lan Xichen choked, and spat out his tea, coughing loudly.

Lan Qiren looked at him in surprise. "Xichen what is the meaning of this?! I thought you and Li-Yun were on good terms. She told me that she had temporarily left to meet a family friend, and now she has returned. Aren't you excited to see her?"

Lan Xichen coughed again, before staring wearily at the cup in his hands. "Tell her to leave." He said flatly. Lan Qiren was stunned to see his nephew say such a phrase that he had only expected from his other nephew. "Xichen I think you might have misunderstood her-"

Lan Xichen abruptly stood up. "I'd like if you tell her to leave. I don't want to see her." His voice quivered, as he bowed and left.

The next day, Lan Xichen greeted Jiang Cheng who immediately ran into his arms. "You haven't sent me a letter at all! I thought something happened to you-" Lan Xichen looked at Jaing Cheng in confusion. "But I sent at least three letters to you. Did you not see any of the letters?" Jiang cheng frowned. "I haven't received a single one." His expression turned from confusion of fury. "Who the hell has been messing with my letters?!" He hissed, his eyes immediately narrowing as he glared at the floor.

Lan Xichen couldn't help but chuckle at how much Jiang Cheng resembled an angry cat. He pulled Jiang Cheng closer, and kissed his cheek. "A-Cheng we can deal with that later. At least you're here now. I-"

He was suddenly interupted, when a disciple approached him. "We have been ordered to announce the arrival of Lady Li-Yun. She will report to you shortly."

Lan xichen froze, as he pulled Jiang Cheng in tighter. "I see my uncle didn't heed my warning." He muttered as he hurriedly dismissed the disciple. Jiang Cheng turned to Lan Xichen, "Who is this 'Lady Li-Yun' he speaks of? You don't seem to like her at all." Lan Xichen dropped his gaze to the floor. "She... well..."

suddenly, they heard someone exclaim. "A-Huan is that you!?"

Lan Xichen froze when he heard that voice, as he stiffened a little. Jiang Cheng turned to the voice to see who it was.

A lady in a beautiful violet hanfu walked towards them. She had her silky black hair up in two ponytails, and her dark blue eyes shined with joy as she saw Lan Xichen. She beamed as she flung herself at him, wrapping her hands around his arm, so that Lan Xichen was now being hold by two people: Jiang Cheng and Li-Yun.

"A-Huan I missed you so much!" She said cheerfully.

Jiang Cheng blinked and looked at Lan Xichen in confusion, as his eyes narrowed slightly. Hurt flashed across his face.

"A-Huan, who is this?"
