Jiang Cheng woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed.
When was the last time I actually slept deeply like this?...
He turns around and finds himself face to face with a sleeping Lan Xichen. His face immediately became flushed, and he had to quickly turn his face away to hide his embarrassment.
I can't believe I actually spilled all my emotions to a guy I just met...
What will he think of me now?...
He will hate me now...
MOTHER FOR ONCE HELP ME PLEASE-
Jiang Cheng subconsciously groaned.
He was still turned around, so he hadn't noticed Lan Xichen who had been long awake, and was now staring at Jiang Cheng with a concerned, yet amused expression.
WHY DID HE EVEN ASK TO BE HERE?-
ARG NOW I HAVE A DEBT TO A-HUAN-
Lan Xichen who could no longer hold himself back, suddenly spoke, "Why are you making those expressions Wanyin?" Jiang Cheng froze, and his face evolved from light pink to scarlet in the blink of an eye. "Nothing." Jiang Cheng's response was so quiet, that Lan Xichen had to move closer to hear him speak. "What did you say?"
From leaning in closer, Lan Xichen could now see the very visible blush that decorated Jiang Cheng's face and neck. He smiled slyly. "Wanyin... you look quite flustered there-" Without a word, Jiang Cheng suddenly got up, and started pushing Lan Xichen to the door. "I haven't even finished my sentence Wanyin-" And he was gone. Jiang Cheng slammed the door shut, and sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair.
A-Huan you dang human....

Lunch was more than awkward, as Madam Yu had ordered for Jiang Cheng and Jiang Cheng only to give breakfast to Lan Xichen. He surprised himself of how he was able to stop himself from turning into a tomato there and then. Wei Wuxian's face was unbearable. He had been grinning and very visibly hiding a laugh at the torture Jiang Cheng went through, making Jiang Cheng wanting to break Wei Wuxian's tail.
He was nervous as he knocked Lan Xichen's door. However, he was surprised when Lan Xichen opened the door like nothing happened. In fact, his smile had gone back to the gentle smile that he usually sees. Nothing like the teasing smirk from earlier.
Lan Xichen on the other hand, had felt a little guilty at the end, and was now trying his hardest not to tease Jiang Cheng more. He simply thanked Jiang Cheng and gently closed the door after he left. Suddenly, he remembered that he had forgot to tell Jiang Cheng about him being a vegetarian since he didn't serve Lan Xichen the first day and therefore didn't know. He sat there thinking for a moment, before deciding to eat the food anyway.
I'm not a huge fan of meat.
But uncle would never know anyway...
He was about to eat the food when he noticed a small note on the side of the tray.
Curious, he lifted the note and opened it.
It read:
A-Huan:
I had a feeling your clan doesn't eat meat, so everything there is vegetarian I guess. No spice as well.
I will be out today for training so I'm not free today. Tomorrow I'm going to the market, and you are going with me.
No exceptions.
Wanyin
Lan Xichen thoroughly read the note and chuckled.
Wanyin did quite some research about my sect.
Speaking of Gusu....
I wonder how uncle is doing...
