Dreams and Nightmares

Red son POV~

He turned around to the painfully familiar sight of Mei encased in red flames. No no no not again! He shoved his heel into the ground, sprinting up towards where she was being held.

"Dragon girl! Can you hear me! Dragon girl! Remember your training!" She looked up at him with a weak face, her hair blazing.
"I Can't!" She cried through the fire. "She has this grip on me- AH!" She screamed as she was pulled away.

"It truly is devastating when those you cherish are simply not strong enough. I expected a little more of a challenge..." The Lady Bone Demon floated over to Mei. Her hands behind her back. "She had a good spirit. Say goodbye." Her voice echoed as she held her hand up to Mei.

"Red boy! Do something!" She screeched before the Lady Bone Demon closed her fist. A huge explosion occurred from where Mei had stood, except now the Lady Bone Demon was the only one there. A ringing sounded in Red son's ears as he sat up.

"Mei!" MK raced over, "Where is she!" his voice rang from behind him. Red son stood up, his body weightless, his head light, and his hands shaking. "Red son what happened?!?!" MK appeared next to him and all he could do was stare helplessly.

"Would you like to tell him? I would prefer to do it though." The Lady Bone Demon's snicker was quiet yet loud enough for all of them to hear.

"Where is she!" MK growled at her.

"If you can't see it. It doesn't exist." She laughed. Red son's heart sank and his fists flamed up. All he could see was the memory flashing of Mei screaming for help.

"NO!" Red son's voice echoed around the field and then everything went dark.

"NO!" He woke up and found himself sitting up straight yelling. "Huh?" He wiped underneath his eye and was shocked to see a glittering tear on his fingertip. His eyes enlarged as he remembered his nightmare. "The dragon girl!" He grabbed his phone, changed, and raced out of his bedroom. Pulling up his phone, he checked his messages and scrolled down to, '🐉💚Dragon Girl 💚🐉' and began starting a text,

Red Son: "Where are you."

🐉💚Dragon Girl 💚🐉:" Um, the noodle shop? And why are you texting! It's literally 4ammmmmmmm. I wanna sleep."

Red son: "So what are you doing awake?"

🐉💚Dragon Girl 💚🐉: "I wasn't up."

Red son: "So how are you up?" He stood for a minute, awaiting a response.

🐉💚Dragon Girl 💚🐉: "NOT important. What's wrong?"

Red son: "Just hold on a minute. I'm coming over."

🐉💚Dragon Girl 💚🐉: "OOO YAY!"

Red son: "ugh."

He gathered a puff of fire and teleported over to the shop, charring the ground beneath him.

Mei's POV~

Mei sprang awake from her sleep. She shook her head and wiped her teary eyes, and combed her messy hair with her hands. She sat staring at the wall thinking about her dream, she had watched Red son get sucked into the scroll. She was surprised at her reaction to the nightmare, she didn't think she cared enough for him to the point he would be dying in her dreams. Her stomach turned and she flopped back into her bed. All she could think about was how he had jumped in front of her to protect her. Despite that being not what had actually happened in real life, but instead it happened in her nightmare. She pulled the covers over her head, now she was hoping she hadn't woken up MK. She slowly uncovered herself from the blanket and peeked out to see MK snoring, sprawled out on his bed. He wasn't even under his covers anymore and she couldn't help but laugh a little.
