They were sitting there eating, and Jordan was kissing her when Evie walked in and she saw the Knight's and Jordan lip-locked with his wife. She huffed and walked over with an attitude.
Sharon, Allison, and Marlene, so great to see you all again. Hey Jordan."
He rolled his eyes, "Hey Evie, babe, this is my ex, Evelyn and Evelyn, this is my wife, Brittney. I'm sure you two remember each other."
"Hey girl, how's it going?" Sharon asked.
"Nice to see you again," Brittney said.
"Yeah, you too," Evie said with an attitude.
"Sharon, I am doing great; I got a new modeling job for a fashion campaign."
"That's great, girl. So happy for you," Allison said.
"So, Brittney, how are you liking his schedule and him always traveling? I hated his schedule; the only good thing was I traveled for work as well, so we were both on the road a lot."
"Right now, his schedule doesn't bother me. I will be traveling with him as much as I can until I get too far along. Then, I won't be able to travel for a few weeks after the baby is born. Then, the baby and I will travel with him as long as we can."
"Oh, wow, he actually takes you with him? He never invited me; it was; I have blah blah shows for blah blah time; see you when I get back. Baby? You're pregnant already?"
"Yes, he does. I have traveled with him since we reconnected."
"Yep, she travels with me because I don't want to be apart from her any more than we have to be. She took time off work to attend shows with me, but now she no longer has to do that since she resigned. Yes, we are happily expecting a little bundle of joy." He absentmindedly placed his hand on her stomach and rubbed it.
"Oh, so you quit work? I guess I can't blame you; it's hard to trust musicians when they are on the road and never know where they will end up or whose bed they will end up in. Good for you making sure he stays in line."
"I don't really have to keep him in line, and I only travel with him because he wants me to, not because I have to. I trust Jordan, and I will unless he gives me a reason not to trust him. Now, when we have more kids, it may be harder for me to join him."
"Just give it time, sweetheart, and he will break your heart just like he did mine."
"Well, it was good seeing you, Evie, but I think your friends are waiting on you, and our food should be out soon."
"Yeah, it was great seeing all of you again. Take care, Marlene. Bye, guys." She walked to her table.
Jordan rolled his eyes when she walked away. "Thanks, Ma, for getting her to leave; she was fixing to make me mad."
"I realized that son; that's why I said what I did to get her to leave. She's just upset, Jordan, and she will be for a while. Eventually, she will move on. Just watch out 'cause she might be stalking your house."
"She better stay away from our house; she lives in Melrose, so there is no reason for her to be in Milton. She better stay away from me and Brittney." He saw her friends look over at them, and she was watching him.
He leaned in and kissed his wife. He tucked her hair behind her ear, and she laid her head on his shoulder.
"You two are just so cute together. We are really happy for you both. It's about time he got some real happiness in his life," Allison and Sharon said.
"Thanks, sisters; I am very happy." Their food came out, and they ate and laughed. Jordan loved to watch his wife eat as she enjoyed her food. She ate some wings, spaghetti, breadsticks, and pizza.
