April 2008:
We drove to New York City two days ago. We stayed in our house, and the guys stayed with us. We have plenty of room. Well, everyone did but Joey because he stayed in his house.
Our precious Natalie is one year old today, and they are making their announcement about their reunion. Some info got leaked online, so they decided to make an appearance and officially announce the reunion.
Cami is coming to babysit the kids so that I can go with Jordan. It's raining, and he didn't really want me being out in the weather, but I told him I was going to support my husband and make sure the fans know he is very happily taken. He just smiled and kissed me.
Two black Escalades with dark-tinted windows pulled up, and Jordan, Jon, and I climbed in the first one. Donnie and Danny climbed into the second one with Joey already in there.
We were driven to the back doors of the studio and walked inside. It was pretty neat to go backstage with my husband as if I were part of the band. We were taken to what they call the green room and seated.
We stayed there until it was time for the guys to go to their hiding spots, and I was taken to the tent to watch. The fans were screaming so loudly my ears hurt. I knew that they weren't going to flop; their fans had driven from all over and spent the night out in the rain just to hear this announcement.
This was just the beginning of our future. I knew they would be around for years to come. I was happy for my husband, my brother-in-law, and their friends.
Danny even remembered me and walked over and talked to me. Asked me how the years we were apart were and how they had been since we had reconnected. He loved meeting our kids. All the guys did, and Miss Natalie is a major flirt with Joey.
Joey just flirted back with her and made her hide her face. Jordan wasn't liking his daughter flirting with his bandmates.
"Alright, princess, enough of that flirting; they are way too old for my baby girl. Yes, they are." She just smiled at her Daddy. She was a daddy's girl, no doubt.
I felt bad for her because when she did get old enough to date, she had her two older brothers, her dad, his three brothers, and now his bandmates. She had no chance they would scare all the boys away.
I just loved to see the guys; we had gotten pretty close while they were recording. They would come over for dinner, and I got to know them all pretty well. Donnie is so great, Joey is so sweet, and Danny, well, he is so silly.
They start their tour in a few months, and their album goes on sale in September. Their first single will be released in May. Our life will never be the same. Now we have to be careful about going out because fans will be swarming us.
Yes, even me. I went to the store the other day, and three women stopped me and asked for pictures. Besides that, two reporters were following me. When I told Jordan, he said, "It's starting, and even you are being bombarded. That's it; we are getting the security company. You can't leave the house alone anymore."
"But Jordan."
"No, no buts. This is for your safety and the safety of our children."
And so it begins. Cody has been to dinner at our house a few times. He seems to really like the kids as well. He will go out and play with them in the yard every time he comes over. They like him, too."
Five weeks later:
We arrived at the Today Show for the first performance since the reunion, which really isn't true; they performed six shows before this.
