Four weeks later:
Brittney and Jordan had gone to his show in Ohio and returned home. Brittney had not been feeling well. She had missed a few days of work and was tired all the time.
Jordan had been trying to take care of her and letting her take several naps a day. He had gotten her soup and checked her for a fever.
"Baby, I am really worried about you. You have been sleeping a lot, and you haven't been able to hold much down but broth for three days. If you aren't better by tomorrow, I am taking you to the emergency room."
"Jordan, how long has it been since we got married?"
"Um, it has been about four and a half weeks since our wedding, babe."
"I think I know what's wrong. Can you run to a drugstore and get some pregnancy tests."
"Oh, shit, I forgot about that. Yes, I will run there right now. Do you need anything before I leave?"
"Can you grab me a grape popsicle?"
"Sure thing, baby girl." He went downstairs and grabbed a popsicle and a Sprite. He brought them back up and gave her the popsicle. "Okay, sweetheart, I am going to run to the drugstore, and I will be right back. I love you so much, baby and right now I am really happy."
"Thank you, baby, for saying that. I am happy as well; you have made me really happy. I love you so freaking much, Jordan. Thank you for always taking care of me."
"You are very welcome, my love." He kissed her and then left. She ate her popsicle and drank half the Sprite when Jordan returned. He put his keys and wallet on the table and then went upstairs.
"Okay, sweetie, I got the pregnancy tests and some more popsicles for you. You were getting low, being they are really the only thing you can hold down. I'm so sorry, baby."
"Thank you, my sweet husband, and don't apologize. It wasn't your fault the condom broke, and we decided to stop using protection. Let's go take these tests and see if we are expecting."
They went to the restroom, and Jordan handed her a disposable cup. She peed in it and then dipped the tests in the cup. They set a timer and then waited for the timer to go off. Jordan wrapped his arm around her and held her while they waited.
When the timer beeped, Jordan and Brittney walked over together. They looked down, and both tests were positive. Jordan hugged her and kissed her.
"Well, we are expecting a little Knight to our family. Congratulations, Daddy."
"Yes, we are and congratulations to you as well, Mommy." He leaned in and kissed her again.
"So, if we got pregnant on our wedding night, our baby will be due around the end of October or the first of November."
"I have shows scheduled. I know I have several in October and a couple in November. What are we going to do? I can't be on tour when it gets close to your due date."
"You will continue your shows, and I will stay home the further along I get. Jordan, I think we need to move to Boston. That's where all your family is, and I think our baby will need to be around family."
"Brittney, I think you need to make sure this is what you want to do. I don't live in Dorchester anymore. I bought a house in Milton. I think we need to drive up to Boston and let me show you our house. It's not fancy like this one, but it's nice. It has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a gym in a gated community."
"Okay, well, it's Thursday. I have already called in; why don't we drive up there tomorrow? So, I can see the house and maybe even meet the rest of your family."
"Yes, they have all been bugging me about when they are going to get to meet you. I told them that right now, we are still in our newlywed phase, and I didn't know when I was going to let you go long enough for them to meet you."
"No, you didn't. Please tell me you didn't. They are going to think all we have been doing was sleeping together."
"Oh, I did, and Sharon got on to me when I told her to listen to my song Give It to You; that's all we have been doing. She told me to shut up; she didn't need to hear that. I then busted out laughing and told her we would come to visit as soon as we could. It was hard with your work schedule and my tour schedule."
"So, my family will be happy. Are we planning on announcing our pregnancy now?"
"I will leave that up to you when we announce that we are expecting. You know they are going to think we got married because you knocked me up.
"I don't care what they think. Besides, we wouldn't have even known you were pregnant when we got married. I mean, we got married like ten days after we reconnected, and we didn't even sleep together four days before we got married."
"Jordan, I think I may just work out a notice and quit my job. Are you sure you are really okay with me not working?"
"Okay, baby and yes, I am. Then, you and the baby can tour with me until it starts school."
"How many kids do you want, Jordan?"
"Three or four would be nice."
"How about this? If we have a boy and a girl, we stop; if we don't have one of each, then we go to four. If we still don't, then we just stop."
"Okay, that sounds good to me. Would you like another popsicle?"
"Yes, and maybe some soup? I'm starving."
"Okay, sweetie, soup and popsicle coming up." He placed his hand on her stomach, "Hey there, sweet baby, listen, this is your daddy. Your beautiful Mommy needs to eat some real food, so can you be easier on her?"
Britt smiled at her husband as he spoke to her belly in a calm tone. He went and fixed her a bowl of chicken noodle soup and brought her a popsicle back. She munched on the popsicle while her soup cooled enough to eat.
The next day, Brittney was feeling better; she and Jordan got in his car and headed for Boston. Jordan had packed her a bag for a few nights.
When they arrived in Milton, and he parked the car in the garage. She smiled as they drove up to his house.
"Jordan, this house is beautiful. I love the siding and rock mixed together."
"Well, thank you. Welcome home, babe."
They walked into the house, and she smiled at the way he had it decorated. It was a grey interior carpet and furniture with a creamy light tan color on the walls. The entryway was nice; he had a wooden seat so you could put your shoes on. A shoe rack when you first step in and houseshoes to change into.
"I prefer not to walk on the carpet and drag dirt in. These houseshoes are used by my mom; we will buy you a pair. I normally just kick my shoes off and walk barefoot." Britt slipped her tennis shoes off and followed Jordan.
They walked through the entire home. He had an office and library on the main floor, and it had a kitchen and dining room, a living room, a sitting room, and a den on this floor. The master was also on this floor.
The master bedroom had a king-size bed, two dressers, a his and her closet, a loveseat, a recliner, and a tv. The bathroom was huge; it had a makeup vanity, a huge jacuzzi tub, and a huge shower with four shower heads.
"I already had Jon replace the mattress with a new one. It's brand new, so we will be the only ones sleeping on it."
"Why did you do that, Jordan?"
"Because Evie had slept on the other mattress. This one is brand new; I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable."
"Thank you, baby. Can I lie down? I'm feeling really tired."
"Of course, you can, darlin'. Let me grab you a drink, and then you can take a nap."
