Chapter 47: Jordan's new love

So, Jordan came over the other night and asked if he could talk to me. Cody kissed me and went to the playroom with the kids. 

We sat down in the living room, and he looked at me. "Um, Brittney, I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Okay, go ahead."  

"Well, I have been seeing someone. We started dating three months ago. She is also a celebrity, so we have been keeping it quiet. I explained to her that I needed to talk to you and the kids before we allowed anyone to see us."

"That's good, I am happy for you, Jordan. You deserve to be happy."

"So, I want you to meet her first before I introduce the kids to her. I feel that is the responsible thing to do since we are their parents."

"Okay, we can do that. You know Cody is traveling again. So, you would need to schedule it when he's home. I can probably get Sharon and Ally to come stay with the kids while we meet somewhere."

"Really? You are being so cool about this."

"Why wouldn't I be? I mean, I am married and have Twins with my husband. I was surprised you haven't already started dating. So, she is a celebrity?"

"Yes, it's Daisy Fuentes."

"Oh, she is beautiful. I like her she is so funny. Good for you, so yeah, just figure out when and where and let us know. We will be there. Thank you for talking to me, Jordan, but you are allowed to move on."   

"I told you I was seeing a counselor and trying to get my life back on track. When I lost you, my life completely went off the rails. I just started feeling better about my mistake and felt I could try again. I have to make sure I never hurt anyone the way I hurt you."

"Thank you, and I am glad you are getting better. I'm kind of excited to meet her. Jordan, yes, you made a huge mistake that broke my heart, but you deserve to be as happy as I am, and Cody really does make me happy."

"I can see that. I don't think I have ever seen you so full of life. You have five kids and still look fantastic."

"Thanks, Jordan. When do you plan on talking to the kids? Natalie already thinks you have a girlfriend. She talked to me about it at the baby's first birthday. She said she heard you on the phone." 

"Oh, I didn't know she heard me. How did she seem to take it?"

"She was okay; she just didn't understand why you were hiding it. She asked me if I still loved you and if I loved you when we had the kids."

"What did you tell her?"

"The truth, that we were very much in love when we were married, but some things happened, and it ruined our marriage. I will always love you because you were a father to my kids. I also told her to give you time; you would tell them when you were ready."

"What did she say?"

"That she would wait until you talked to them and that she was happy I married Cody because he was really good to them."

"Brittney, you know I still love you, I always will. I understand why I lost you, and sadly, I can't go back in time. I think everything happens for a reason. I don't know why, but I'm guessing you were meant to be with Cody. It sucks because I have always felt we were meant to be, but no matter what, we aren't together anymore. We had three amazing kids, and for that, I will always be grateful to you."

"I know that, Jordan and I'm glad to know that you understand. Maybe, and I feel the same, Cody just fits perfectly into my life. He is good to me, his kids, and your kids."
