"Hey Mrs Adam this is Hinata Hyuga calling you back. I know you said that the pipes have been dripping and your stove hasn't been working. I spoke the repair man and he should becoming to your home sometime this week. Just call me back or shoot me a text with a time that works best for you."

She pressed the red button on her iPhone to end the voicemail. Hinata then dropped her phone on the kitchen counter and ran her palms up and down her face. When she turned around, the time on the kitchen stove read seven am. Calling the tenants was only one out of one hundred million things she had to do today.

It felt like this was a sick exhausting cycle. And she's only been home for three weeks.

At 7:01, an email appeared

From: dshimura@hyugarestorations.org

Good Morning Miss Hyuga,

Just to let you know todays meeting to review the plants new production cycles has been moved to noon. Some of the investors needed a schedule change. See you then.

After reading the email, she immediately called Neji. After two rings he picked up,

"Good morning Hinat-"

"Danzo doesn't respect me."

Neji sighed over the line, "Hina..."

She shook her head, moving to open the refrigerator as she stayed on the phone, "No don't say my name like that. He doesn't respect me and you know it."

The first thing Hinata was ordered to do when she came back to Konoha was assume her fathers position. But in reality, she assumed her fathers life. Hiashi Hyuga is a very well established man. Not only did he belong to one of the most illustrious families in Konoha, but he had several investment properties, helped out in local charities, and had many connections.

When it was announced that the man was diagnosed with cancer & was not currently doing well, many of his closest companies and comrades were quick to send their regards and offers several helping hands. Hinata already knew some of these people. Her father was once known to host dinner parties at their large house and connect people who might have not previously met before.

But when it came to the actual Hyuga business, Hinata was left in the dark. "There are things you need to know sweetie pie." During one of his more conscious moments, Hiashi tried to explain the way things operated the best he could. He felt awful that his daughter would be left to convene with literal sharks. "You'll be working with the family, but family isn't always peaceful or even helpful. Hizashi and I have created some strong bonds within the business, but you need to know that you have to always keep an eye out."

Everyone knew it was not fair to hand Hinata the responsibility of assuming her fathers work. It was impossible. How could a single person do all of that and do it well? One of the sharks that her father mentioned to her was Danzo. He had been working with the family for over the past twenty years, and it was evident on more than one occasion that he felt he should assume Hiashi's role.

Thankfully her cousin Neji, her uncle Hizashi and others who were more close knit immediately came to Hinata's defense and protection. Of course, Hiashi wasn't gonna let his baby girl suffer for his sake so he set her up for success the best way he knew how.

By giving Hinata his assistant.

Over the phone, Neji knew very well that Hinata was upset that Danzo was moving her schedule around. If her father was at work this would've never happened. The elder was trying to push the girl out of her spot, force her to become so agitated that she would legally forfeit her role for the time being. This wasn't the first time Danzo had treated Hinata like a chess piece. The man knew very well the girl was busy, but he was a senior partner in the company and had a lot of say over most of the operations her family was working with daily.
