The journey towards the castle was uneventfully short. We were in a rush, and I just hope the royals are available despite our sudden visit.

"I already informed Queen Nica about our visit. She and her mate is waiting for us in their private office," ani Alpha nang papasukin kami sa malaking kastilyo.

It looked old but well-maintained. Most things living here are probably antique. Someone led us towards the queen and king's office, and one thing I realized when I set a foot in the land of the vampires is that things are really different now.

I've never seen anyone throw a curious or angry look at us. Instead, they even bow a little to show respect to the alpha and greet us with a smile. They didn't care if we're werewolves... or hybrids. It seems like they accept who we are and has no issues letting us wander around their world.

This maybe an eye-opener for me... that people already moved on and they chose to let go of the anger than get stuck and live in the past. Maybe that's what we needed. Maybe we need to let go of the dark past to move on and live better in the present. They looked happier now... more free... Nakikita ko sa kanilang mga mukha na mas masaya sila ngayon. Siguro dahil wala na silang kinikimkim na galit? Our anger are already centuries old. It— We does deserve to be set free.

I stared at my vampire mate. Now, I realized that there is nothing wrong with being with him. Totoong halfbrid na rin halos ang mga nandito. I even saw a vampire and a werewolf couple with their two kids. Will I have that kind of family with Blake, too?

Noticing the intensity of my gaze, he looked at me. He gave me a little smile that made me almost want to kiss him. The urge was strong, and I didn't know how I managed to resist the bond before when everything around him and with him seems so powerful.

"We're here. The king and the queen is waiting for you inside."

Naputol ang pag-iisip ko nang mapagtantong nasa harapan na kami ng opisina ng hari at reyna. Nanlamig ako sa kaba. The thought of meeting the people who shared the same blood with those who almost wiped out our kind is giving me nerves.

"Amara, breathe."

Blake held my hand tightly and give me a reassuring smile. I answered back with a tight smile and breathe deeply. Nang kumatok ang naghatid sa amin, inanunsyo ang aming presensya, at pinapasok sa loob ay muli akong napahinga nang malalim.

The king and the queen was regally sitting on a couple seat while smiling at us. The queen beamed and walked towards us.

"Ashton! Blake!" masayang bati niya sa dalawa.

She looked... young. Probably around Sir Ash's age. I did not expect it. And she seems so close to Alpha Ashton and Blake.

Napunta sa akin ang tingin niya pagkatapos yakapin ang dalawa. Mas lumaki ang kan'yang ngiti.

"Is this... she?" tanong niya kay Blake habang hindi pa rin humihiwalay ang tingin sa akin.

"Don't scare her, Tita."

Tita? Right. Blake's an Evergreen.

"Oh. I won't," saad ng reyna sabay hila sa akin at yakap nang mahigpit.

Sa gulat ko ay nanigas ako. Ang higpit ng pagkakayakap niya sa akin na sobrang gigil na gigil siya.

"Oh my God! You're so pretty!" tili niya saka humiwalay sa yakap at tinitigan ako na kumikinang ang mata-kung posible ba iyon. "You look like a goddess, for Christ's sake!"
