19: Kiss

“So... why are you here, Amara?” kaswal na tanong ni Blake.

After the kiss, he gave me his gorgeous smile before pulling me towards the sofa to sit. He hugged me from the side, occasionally giving me kisses when he felt like it. I should feel awkward or afraid with his advances, but it just feel so right to have him this close to me.

I told myself to try things with Blake, so I have to loosen up. Not that I don't like Blake's kisses. It actually melts me.

“Puno na ng laway mo ang mukha ko,” kumento ko dahil halos mahalikan na niya ang buo kong mukha sa panggigil niya.

He laughed and squeezed lightly the side of my stomach.

“I just can't believe I have you here with me now,” he said. “I want to make sure this isn't a dream... and if it is, at least let me enjoy kissing you. I'll make everything out of this dream.”

Napailing ako at medyo lumayo sa kan'ya dahil nadi-distract ako. Lumapit naman siya sa akin pero humarap na ako sa kan'ya bago pa ako muling makulong sa kan'yang braso.

“I need to talk to you,” ani ko, “or to Alpha Ashton... or the vampire royalties.”

Agad na sumeryoso ang ekpresyon sa kan'yang mukha. “Is this about the attacks happening in Mortal World?”

Tahimik akong tumango.

“What about it, Amara?” tanong niya.

“I met one in person, Blake...” panimula ko. “It looked nothing like the vampires here except their fangs... I want to know maybe you know something about these creatures.”

“How did you meet one?”

Napatitig ako sa kan'ya. “It's not important—”

“Where, Amaranthine?”

“Sa likod ng bar ko. It attacked two humans. I came there late. The victims were dead when I saw it.”

Tumalim ang tingin niya sa akin at umigting ang kan'yang panga.

“Were you hurt? Did it hurt you?”

Umiling ako.

“I killed it, but I believe there are more of them, Blake. Medyo malayo ang bar ko sa Full Moon Pack pero umabot sila roon. We have to interfere before it gets out of hand,” saad ko.

And what if they are actually after me? I don't know the reason behind it, but there is something about what that... thing said that irks me. Para bang hinahanap nila ako.

"They'll come for you, Alpha Female... and our sacrifice will be worth it.”

If they really are after me, why? Bakit ako? Anong kailangan nila sa akin? And why are they attacking the humans?

Maybe I know the reason, but I don't want to acknowledge it.

I touched some strands of my hair that turned into the color of gold. Blake noticed it earlier and asked me if I dyed my hair. I didn't. It just appeared as if it is something significant with all that's happening today.

Does this have to do something with what they want from me?

“Puntahan natin si Kuya Ashton. Sabay na tayong tatlong pumunta sa Vampire World para makausap mo si Tita Nica,” aniya sabay tayo at lahad ng kamay sa akin.

Tumango ako at tinanggap din ang kan'yang kamay. Sabay kaming lumabas sa opisina.

He never let go of my hand. I find it awkward, but I can't deny the warmth spreading through my body from his physical touch.
