Chapter Seventeen: Canada, Family and Problem

Hope's POV

I was all the shades of red when my eyes met my husband. He was all stray but a smug look on his face which I thought was so frustrating. I hate
it when he makes me feel this way, I want to be strong and not melt right away.

"Are you ready darling?" Kabir comes out of the room, which was the guest bedroom.

"Dad, why didn't you rest a couple more hours? We can take the flight tonight"I insert as I pull the suitcase to give it to a guard who was waiting
for me.

"No, love, let's go home! Mum must be waiting" He says putting his hand on my cheek.
"Okay! Then I will have the guards take other bags too" Than I proceed to walk inside the living room.

Later that day

Taking the step off the car, I look at the big blueish grey mansion in front of me.My eyes wander to the beautiful garden as I walk inside, my mother has this rule, the cars should not enter the gate. She said the garden is for you to remind you of yourself, your family and childhood. So, just walk past that memory at least once a day.

"Baby!" I see my mother standing at the entrance of the house, her eyes filled with tears. A smile cracks up as I look at her, rushing towards
her I hug her tight as she does the same. My eyes welled up, seeing her weak and sick.

"Mum , why are you here, you are sick, please let's go in" I say as I pull away from the hug.
"Can't you see me?" I look behind mum to see Aayaan bhai standing there with a cup in his hand. He gives the cup to one of the maids standing there and opens his arms wide. I smile at him and hug him too,my tears not stopping for a sec.

" Okay, okay now my gulab jamun, stop crying, everybody is waiting for you inside. Come one" He says and looks behind me, his face goes
blank and I turn around to see Aayaan bhai looking at Adrian with anger in his eyes.
I look at my mum and taking her hand, we walked down the hall into the living room, where my family was waiting for me.

Everyone is here, Mason, Max, Arhaan, Aarth, Aayaan, Arjun bhai, Dylan,Arielle, my uncle's and aunties all of them are here. I hug all of them one by one, as they all wait for their turn patiently. I can't believe this, I am
so loved in this family, I felt I had betrayed them. I tried to run away from Adrian but I eventually did get married to him.

"We missed you, how can you do this to us?" Arielle complains as she wipes her tears but doesn't let go off me.

"I am so sorry, all of you" I sob as I feel the guilt hit me again, "I did not... I ... am really sorry" I say, as a hand comes from behind me and I
hug the person. My dad, he is the one who must be so much hurt, but was not able to say it because of my mum.

"I am so sorry dad" I cry my eyes out, as he tries to calm me down. He gently caresses my head and says, "Don't worry princess, it's okay!
It is okay"

"We all forgive you, Hope!" Shanaya's aunt perks up as she looks at Arielle.

Arielle is the one to hold the grudge, but she does not mean anything bad.

We pull away from the hug as I wipe my tears,
"What the f**k are you doing here?" I hear Arhaan bhai shouting, looking at the person he is yelling at, none other than my husband. I kinda forgot how protective my brothers can be! Oh god! Please protect Adrian.

Dad clears his throat and speaks, " I bought him here, he will be our guest from today, so no fights or violence in this house".

"Yes, your father is right, he is our Hope's husband after all. So boys behave! A warning from my mother was enough for my brothers for now. But I was still worried, they would definitely not be good for long. We all take a breath and I sit down on the couch, a maid serves us water and I look at Dylan and Arielle who are walking away from us. Excusing myself and following them I hear them whisper to each other, "You know we need to tell her, right?" Dylan speaks, Arielle makes a face and gives a reply, "Yes, yes, but let her rest for sometime and than we can tell her everything"

"What do you want to tell and to whom?" I interrupt their whispering. Walking near the backstairs where mostly no one goes, they are
whispering like two detectives, now I know something is wrong and they are hiding something from me.

"What? Uh... nothing!" Arielle quickly says.
Dylan turns towards me with an awkward smile, which tells me he is hiding something. I walk towards him and say, "Oh my dear cousin! Do you remember the time when you broke Arjun bhai's favourite glasses? And the time when you sneaked out to go to the club when we were 16? Or the time..." before I could say anything he inserts, "Okay man, sorry! Just say
it, Arielle!" he annoyingly throws his hands down.

"But..." she tries to argue but then she looks at me, and I glare at her.

"Okay, okay! So ... listened we think Adrian is into something bad! I mean real bad sh*t" She says as I look at her baffled, she licks her lower lip and continues, " You know how our Dylan here, is a computer genius." She looks at me and I nod, " So, we did some digging and found out that Adrian has been a kingpin of a drug cartel. We looked into his computer and saw he mostly deals with someone called Thames, and Mad. But the main thing is this" She looks around to see if someone is there, not seeing anyone see
whispers, " Adrian is not the real boss, it is someone called".

"K, yes someone called K" Dylan finishes her sentence. Arielle glances at Dylan and nods in agreement. What the heck? It is so much to digest?

For a minute, I stand there stunned, drugs, Adrian, K? What the heck is going on with our life? Is Adrian not a scientist? Is he not someone who has a pharma company? I don't understand anything! "Hope! Hope!" I hear Arielle, she shakes my hand and I come out with
my thoughts.

I look into her eyes as she questions," You okay?"
"Yeh! Yeh, just a lot to digest, Can we go to my room and talk further?" I ask them, they instantly say 'yes'.
