Hope's POVWe were all in our rooms, getting ready to go on the tour Udaipur, Arjun Bhai and Meera were having a traditional-themed wedding, because this is what Meera wanted, she wanted to have this dream wedding of hers, probably preparing for it and dreaming about it for a long time.
"What about this one?" Dylan asks as he shows us his new attire for the day. I nod, looking at it, it was a maroon T-shirt, with some ripped jeans and a hat. A hat is a must in India, it's sunny in Udaipur, but it gets chilly during the night. We arrived yesterday afternoon, had dinner and went on a tour of this palace. It is beautiful. We were up all night after having a traditional Indian dinner with the whole family, not with Meera's parents. Meera is going to arrive today from Bangalore, she was on a business trip.
Dylan wanted to look his best because it was his brother's soon-to-be wife, he had to give a nice impression. Arjun bhai will also arrive tonight, he had an emergency operation to do so he had to stay back, he has taken a holiday for a month. Well, his immediate boss is his dad.
"Come on, we need to go now. What if Meera has already arrived?" Arhaan bhai comments. Dylan sighs and speaks, "Bhai, please, just get out of here, let Hope handle this. You are not of any help anyways. And waise bhi Meera is coming in tonight" (anyway)
I shake my head and shrug as Arhaan bhai looks at me as if I am going to defend him, I mean Dylan is right, Arhaan bhai is only laying on the bed and scrolling through Instagram of 'hot girls' as he likes to say.
He scowls and speaks, "Okay, whatever, I am going to Mum telling her Hope is doing drugs?"
"Huh?" I utter in confusion, out of nowhere I am doing drugs in India? What kinda logic is this? He gets up and leaves the room in a fit of rage as if I stole one of his girlfriends. Arhaan bhai is the naughtiest and the blabbermouth of the house, Aarth bhai is like Mason bhai, he is the quietest but the one who knows how to show authority in the house. Max Bhai is the quietest, I mean he is the craziest too. The only normal one is me, Aayaan bhai in this family, my mum and dad are the ones who love to sit back and enjoy their children bickering. Weird parents!
"Okay, Hope now focus" Dylan claps his hand and snaps me back to reality. I nod and we continue the fashion show.
"So, this is where Shanaya tripped over, and said that she hates me. I mean, we were married for about 4 years then, do you know I laughed and the next thing that came out of her mouth was, I.WANT.A. DIVORCE." Uncle Klaus laughs, he can only tell this story so bravely because Aunt Shanaya is shopping for a wedding with mum and aunt Kiara and Meera's mum and siblings. I try my best not to laugh at the expression Uncle Kluas makes because he's the funniest, Dylan laughs grabbing his jaw. This was the 3rd story of Uncle Kluas's bookstore.
Suddenly, my phone rings and I take the phone off the table and go a little further from the restaurant. Opening the screen lock, I looked at the text, it was an unknown number.
It said, 'Do not trust your husband too much'
There was no name or anything, I tried to call the number but it said it is unreachable. God! Who the heck is this? I sit on the stairs of the hotel, this part is pretty deserted. I think about the possibilities of my and Adrian's relationship, I can finally know him. He is trying, showing an effort of getting comfortable. Can he be not trusted? I threw the idea away as it did not make sense now, he was making an effort and that is enough for me to trust him.
My phone rings and a smile spreads on my face.
"Hello," I say as I pick up the call quickly.
A deep exhale and he says, "I am missing you so much." My smile widened, I did not need any other reason not to trust him, he was expressing what he felt and I am content with this.
