The marauders took every opportunity they could to call Regulus and I cringe, or to simply poke fun at us. But I knew Sirius was glad Regulus had someone there for him. And that Reggie seemed happier.

Reggie and I made it official soon after our first kiss and had been doing solid ever since. The boys probably had a point when they called us cringe, even though we didn't show too much affection in public. The both of us weren't good with our families but we still didn't want to be the focus of our families. Regulus, especially, was incredibly worried with his image. It was sad to see because he often made himself so small in an attempt to be the perfect pure blood son. He did everything in his power to never toe the line, to never step out of bounds.

Regulus and I had spent hours talking about our families. He told me about him and Sirius... and how he felt so hopeless back when Siri had lived at home. His parents were horribly abusive to Sirius, but Regulus would always freeze. He was never able to help him and he hated himself for that. Regulus held a lot of guilt within him and it ate him up inside.

My home life had been less turbulent than his and Sirius'. I was an only child, and my father was dead. It was just my mother and me and she never made an effort to see me. Even when I was home, she wasn't. I was raised by nannies and babysitters; they knew me better than my mother ever could have.

"What are you thinking about over there, butterfly?" Regulus questioned causing me to smile over at him.

"Just us," I responded with a smile and leaned forward to lightly peck his lips.

"Oh yeah?" He questioned with a smile on his own face.

"I love you, Reg. I love us," I told him sincerely.

"I love you too, butterfly," he said back before pulling me into his arms and holding me close to him. I let him hold me as I swayed gently in his arms.

"You feel like home," I murmured out.

"I've never known what home has felt like... but you? You're... you're the home I've never had."

"Same here."
