I couldn't help but fidget with my dress as Regulus and I vacated the train. This would be my first time meeting Mr. and Mrs. Black. I'm sure for appearance sake, they'd be just lovely to me. But I knew about them... I knew who they were, deep down.
"We'll be okay," Reg whispered to me as he grabbed a hold of my hand. "We have each other. We'll be okay." I couldn't tell if he was trying to convince me or himself, but that didn't matter because I could feel eyes land on Reggie and I.
"They don't usually come to the station," Reggie said with surprise as the pair moved towards us.
"Calista! So good to meet you!" Mrs. Black gushed as she stopped in front of us.
"A pleasure to meet you as well, Mrs. Black," I responded with the utmost formality.
The four of us headed back to Black manor and instantly I felt like something was wrong. There was some type of energy... and it wasn't just the residual energy from the house.
"We have a visitor, by the way, Regulus," Mr. Black told his son. I felt Reg shiver and I squeezed his hand tighter. We walked into the house and there he was, just standing in the living room with several other people. Voldemort.
"My lord," Regulus greeted as he relinquished my hand. My hand felt empty without his, but I knew his purpose was to protect me. To not show weakness.
"Who is this pretty little thing?" He questioned causing me to shiver.
"Calista Costello, My Lord," I responded cordially. Voldemort smiled and I fought every bone in my body that was telling me to run, or to hide.
Regulus had to leave my side soon enough and was required to go have a meeting with the dark Lord and his other followers. I couldn't help but pace the entire time he was gone, worrying about him. Being away from Reg was hard already, being away from him and knowing he was with the evilest entity I had ever encountered? It was almost unbearable.
