It was late in the night by the time Reggie came back to the room and instantly I was all over him checking every inch of him to make sure he was okay as he repeatedly told me he was fine.
"You're okay?" I questioned after being satisfied that he had no major wounds of any sort.
"I'm okay, Calista," he whispered to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "I'm here, love. I'm okay."
"You were gone so long-"
"Shh, I know, butterfly. I know. He... wanted to use Kreacher for something..."
"You said yes?" I questioned gently.
"I didn't have any other choice," he murmured.
"Hey, it's okay. It'll be okay. Kreacher will be okay, and we'll be okay."
"Okay is starting to sound like it isn't even a word anymore, butterfly," Reggie mumbled with a grim smile. I sighed and laid my head on his chest.
"I just... we need to be okay," I whispered brokenly.
"I know, love. I know."
Reggie and I managed to get some sleep but we were startled awake by a crash in the room.
"Lumos," I commanded immediately. The lights turned on to reveal Kreature on the ground and a lamp that had been on the dresser knocked to the floor.
"Kreature!" Regulus shouted as he rushed to his elf.
"Ma-stor," Kreature breathed out.
"Cali- what do we do, what do we do?" he panicked as Kreature went limp in his arms. I shook myself out of my shock and rushed over to Kreature's side.
"I can do this, healing is what I'm good at," I assured Regulus. I spent the next several hours in deep focus over Kreature. His heart rate began to stabilize and after I was absolutely convinced he wasn't on deaths door, I collapsed on the floor next to him.
"Babe-" Regulus said as he managed to cushion my head as I slumped to the floor.
"Em' jus tired," I slurred out.
It took days for Kreature to finally awaken. After he did, though, he told us every little detail about what had happened between him and Lord Voldemort.
Regulus seemed to be deep in thought for a long while, so I let him think. Regulus was smart, and it seemed like he was close to solving something.
"Horcruxes," Regulus stated.
"What?" I questioned.
"That's what he's doing. He's creating horcruxes. That's why he's immortal."
"I- I can't believe... he's... oh my god," I murmured as I guided myself to a sitting position.
