Chapter 8~ Party.

"Where were you all day?" Robin's voice called from the kitchen. Ziggy completely lost track of time whilst she was with Max and before she knew it, it was six o'clock, "sorry I was-" She stopped once she saw both Robin and Steve sat at the kitchen table with pizza boxes in front of them.

"Hey Ziggy stardust." Steve smiled, "and Steve's here." She smiled, "hi Steve."

"Want some pizza?" He held up the box making Ziggy smile, "obviously."

"So? Where were you?" Robin repeated as Ziggy bit into the slice of pizza in her hand, "I was...with Max." She said slowly, instantly seeing looks of confusion from Steve and Robin, "but you hate her." Robin stated, "I don't hate her..."

"Well you did, what changed?"  Steve asked, "nothing, I just helped her move some stuff to her new place and we talked about some...things."

"Wait she's moving?!" They said in unison, "that's why she's been like this." Steve mumbled to Robin, "still here." Ziggy pursed her lips, "sorry." They said in unison again.

"Okay anyway, I'm going to sleep, I have cheerleading practice like all day tomorrow."

~

The next day pretty much dragged on as usual. After Max knew Ziggy was done with practise she headed straight to the locker room to see her. After she helped her move all the stuff yesterday, she wanted to give Ziggy something but when she walked in, she stumbled in on her being leaned on by some girl, one of the other cheerleaders, so she cleared her throat and immediately got both their attention, Ziggy rolled her eyes whilst the other girl adjusted her clothing, "um- I should go." She whispered before walking out and giving Max an awkward look.

"What was that about?" Max questioned, Ziggy could hear the difference in her voice, it sounded like the way she spoke to her before yesterday, she really thought things would be different today. "What was what about?" She took a deep breath, "that girl."

"Janie?" Ziggy questioned, "yeah- she was all over you." Max replied shortly making Ziggy's eyebrows furrow, "so?"

"So you're in public." Max folded her arms, "okay, first off, no we're not, we're in the locker room and second, are you being homophobic or something right now?"

"What?! No!" Max stumbled over her words, "that's not my issue here." She said making Ziggy extremely confused, "then what is?!"

"Nothing." Max abruptly grabbed something out of her bag and pushed it into Ziggy's chest, "here." She stormed off.

Ziggy watched her walk away and was even more confused than before, she had no idea what just happened. Looking down in her hands, she saw that Max handed her a copy of the endless summer.

~

After the weird interaction, Ziggy stormed straight home- a thousand thoughts going around her head- she wasn't sure if she believed that Max wasn't being homophobic, it just felt weird.

Once she got home, she headed straight to the kitchen. Her dad used to drink a lot and the good thing about this was he left loads in the kitchen cabinets. She grabbed a bottle of the first thing she could get her hands on and just drank from the bottle, she wanted to forget about Max, the girl had been taking up way too much of her head space recently.

"Ziggy what are you doing?" Robin questioned as she walked into the kitchen making Ziggy dramatically roll her eyes, "drinking? What does it look like?" She took another sip from the bottle, "yeah I can see that but why are you drinking?!"

"I've had a shit day okay?"

"That doesn't mean you need to drink." Robin walked over to her, "what? Am I reminding you too much of dad?"
