Chapter 10~ sleepover.
"Hey! I'm so glad you could come." Mike greeted Ziggy as she was stood at the front door of the wheelers house.
It had been a few days since the whole argument, falling off skateboard, argument again, fainting then making up incident. For once, Max and Ziggy had actually spent time with each other without arguing and along with that, she had spoken properly to the rest of the party, all the past put behind for now. Ziggy would be lying if she said it felt like old times, obviously things had changed but it still felt bitter sweet.
She talked to Eddie again after she 'got her head on straight' but had yet to talk to Nancy, they didn't really have an argument but it wasn't like them to even raise their voices at each other.
"Come on, they're all downstairs."
"It's so weird to be back here." She looked around, truth be told, the last time she was here didn't go down great at all but she decided to put it all aside for tonight and just think about the happy memories instead.
"Ziggy?! Is that you?" Mrs. Wheelers voice sounded from the kitchen as Ziggy braced herself for seeing her, it had literally been five years since they had seen each other and she was extremely nervous, like what if Mike had been feeding her a load of bullshit about what happened?
"Hi." She gave a nervous smile as the woman was now in sight and heading over with open arms before embracing Ziggy who practically melted at the touch of any affection. It had been years since she had felt any, especially from a parental figure.
"Oh my god." Karen finally pulled away and gave a big smile, looking over Ziggy, "you look so beautiful. You're so grown up!"
"Thank you." She smiled, "mom-"
"One second Micheal." Mrs. Wheeler cut him off to Ziggy's amusement, "surprised you don't have boys lining up to get a chance with you." She said making Mike snort and Ziggy's eyes widen, "uh- yeah." She let out an awkward laugh, "boy are just a bit too immature at this age." She side glared Mike.
"At any age." Mrs. Wheeler corrected her, letting out a laugh, "well I won't hold you up any longer, Micheal's got that impatient look on his face."
"It was nice to see you Mrs. Wheeler."
"I've known you since you were five Ziggy, it's Karen." She smiled.

"Where were you guys?" Lucas asked as Mike and Ziggy finally joined the party in the basement, "sorry, my mom was harassing Ziggy." Mike rolled his eyes, "she wasn't harassing me."
"Hey Zig." Dustin and Lucas said in unison, "hey." She said nonchalantly as her eyes focused onto Max who was reading a comic book on Mike's couch.
"Max." Ziggy smiled and made her way over to the red head.
"Hey." She peered up and closed the comic, "oh my god I love that comic!" Ziggy looked over the red comic that had wonder woman's face plastered on the front cover, "really?" Max beamed, "I must of read it about a hundred times." She laughed, "me too!"
"So what are we doing tonight?" Ziggy now turned to the boys, "how about d&d?" Dustin grinned causing Ziggy to turn back to Max as they both gave each other weird looks, "okay you guys can do that." Max chimed in, "Max and I will watch a movie." Ziggy finished her sentence for her. Okay obviously she used to play d&d with them all the time and got annoyed when people would call them nerds but it was obvious Max wasn't really into it and she didn't exactly want to nerd out in front of her.
