20. 𝙈𝙤𝙢?!

Chapter 20~ Mom?!

"Mom?!" Ziggy stared at the woman in shock, "what the hell is going on Ziggy?!"

"I can't believe you're here- I- you." She kept looking at her mom, Jessica, in shock, "who is this?" She glared at Max, "uh- she's my uh." She took a deep breath, "my best friend."

"Your best friend." She mocked, Ziggy could now smell the alcohol on her breath, her mom looked over all the red cups on the tables and floor, the open bottles of alcohol, chip packets everywhere, "have you been drinking?" Ziggy asked.

"So you decide to throw a party when I'm not here and you're asking me if I've been drinking?!"

"Are you kidding? You haven't been here in over a year!" Ziggy shouted back, "don't you dare speak to me like that! And you." She turned to Max again, "what are you still doing here?"

"Don't speak to her like that." Ziggy stepped in front of Max, "oh." She let out a disgusted laugh, "is this another Melissa situation?" She scoffed.

"Shut up-" Ziggy's sentence got cut short by Jessica slapping her across the cheek, causing her to let out a gasp, "Ziggy!" Max immediately leaned down to check if she was okay.

"Mom?" Robin was now stood at the door, frozen. Nancy, Steve, Dustin and Lucas all stood behind her just as confused.

"Robin." She turned around, looking even more pissed, "what did you do to her?" Robin ran over to her younger sister who had tears streaming down her face, "you allowed your sister to throw a party?!"

"No- I, I didn't know-" Robin stumbled over her words, "you're supposed to be looking after her Robin!"

"No, you are mom!" Ziggy finally looked up, "you're supposed to be looking after me- after both of us but you've been nowhere to be found!"

Ziggy could have sworn there was literal steam coming out of her moms ears after she said that, "don't you dare-"

"Ms. Buckley." Nancy came forward, cutting her off, "Nancy Wheeler." She said with bitterness in her voice before looking at Lucas and Dustin, "you're friends with them again Ziggy?" She asked her, still looking at the boys, "uh yeah."

"I need to speak with my daughters, you can all leave now." Ziggy and Robin nervously looked at all of them before nodding, signalling that they could go, "no- no way." Max whispered, "I won't leave you."

"It's okay, I'll be fine." Ziggy replied, "your face." She gently brushed over the red mark, "what if she does it again?" She worried, "I'll be a minute, I promise."

"Come on Max." Nancy held out her hand for the girl as she hesitantly walked away from Ziggy.

"I can't believe you two!" Jessica looked between her daughters, "why are you back mom?" Robin asked, "why am I back? Why do you think! I've seen what's been going on."

"You haven't been here in a fucking year, you do not get to suddenly come back and do this! Why would you care about what's been going on?!" Ziggy suddenly shouted, taking them both aback.

"You will not swear at me in my own house Ziggy Buckley!" She went to raise her hand up but Robin pushed her arm out the way, "do not touch her."

"What do you think they're talking about?! Do you think she's okay? They haven't seen her in ages." Max paced back and forth, biting at the skin around her thumb as they all stood around the front porch, "Max, calm down." Steve replied.

"No- okay? I won't calm down, she literally slapped Ziggy, who knows what else she could do?!"

"I know but Robin's in there too and she knows we're here so she won't." Dustin said, "I'm with Max on this." Nancy nervously bit at her nails.
