Chapter 21~ Dear Billy.
"Okay is everyone here? I'm gonna start counting heads." Steve asked whilst standing by the basement stairs with hands on his hips. Nancy started pointing at everyone and mumbling under her breath, "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven."
"Okay we're all here." Ziggy snapped, receiving looks from everyone, "sorry." She pursed her lips, "it's okay." Nancy replied.
"Robin, can I talk to you?" Steve asked before she nodded her head and followed him to the corner of the basement whilst the others scattered and went on with their own conversations.
~
"Are you okay? Do you- do you need anything?" Max nervously looked over to Ziggy, "Max, I'm fine. I'm still more worried about you, what's happened has happened, and now it's time to focus on you again."
"No- I really don't want that."
~
"What do you even think they're even talking about?" Nancy was leaning over on her knees with her chin in her hands as Dustin sat there reading a comic, "uh, probably about the whole mom thing?" He replied, nonchalantly, "well why do they need to talk in private? We were all there." She huffed.
"Okay so you're still talking." He mumbled and put his comic down, "they're best friends and want to talk in private Nance, what's going on with you?"
"Nothing." She snapped but he gave her a suspecting look, "does it maybe have something to do with a certain big haired, once a massive asshole now slightly less of an asshole guy?" He narrowed his eyes, "what?! No." She abruptly stood up, "Nance-"
"I'm going upstairs." She scoffed and stormed off, catching Max and Ziggy's attention, "uh what did you say to Nancy?" Max asked, "what- nothing!"
"Mhm sure." Ziggy furrowed her eyebrows and stood up with Max to follow her up the stairs.
"Nancy?" Max called out, "yeah?" Nancy called back but they still couldn't see her, "you're not with anyone are you?"
"Only Ziggy." Max looked back at her girlfriend, "I'm in the kitchen." She replied before they both walked in there to see Nancy stood in front of the counter with a tub of ice cream in front of her, "are you okay?" Ziggy asked, "just fine." She pursed her lips, giving a fake smile, "Nance." Ziggy crossed her arms, "you're sat in the dark with a tub of ice cream in front of you."
"Fine. I'm pissed off." She moved the ice cream and sat on the kitchen counter, "why?" Max questioned, "because of them." She signalled down to the basement, "who?"
"Steve and Robin." She scoffed, "their little 'friendship' and their secret conversations."
"Wait- are you mad because you like Steve?" Ziggy slowly asked, causing Nancy to furrow her eyebrows, "what? No?! Of course not, why would that even be a question? I'm with Jonathon, I'm mad because of their secrets and how close they've gotten, what even are they to each other anyway?"
"Nancy, are you forgetting you've been friends with Robin for a year now? You're mad because you think there's something going on between them?" Ziggy questioned, "maybe I am but not because I like him, because I literally dated him and I just wish it was me who she wanted to talk to." Nancy blurted out, Ziggy and Max exchanged confused looks, "so you're mad because you think somethings going on but you also wish Robin would speak to you?" Max now questioned, "exactly." She folded her arms.
"Nancy...there's nothing going on between them." Ziggy reassured her, "how do you know?!"
"Because I'm gay." Robin's voice came from behind them causing them all to turn around, Nancy's eyes widened as she look at her in shock.
