Chapter 9~ 1 step forward, 3 steps back.
The Monday after a Friday night party was the worst thing to possibly exist. You make a bunch of stupid decisions and mistakes just to have to march through the tortured school halls and face everyone you made those bad decisions in front of and hope to god they didn't remember much, but somehow, they always did.
Ziggy made it so far without seeing any of the cheerleaders until her eyes met with Janie's, they both stared at each other for longer than they thought, before the others took note of Ziggy's presence.
"There's Ziggy." One of the girls mumbled, causing them all to glare at her, "bitch." Allison whispered under her breath prompting Ziggy to flip her off, "real mature Zig."
"Oh, so is mumbling insults under your breath Allison."
"Whatever, you're off the squad by the way." She said, already making her way across the hall, away from Ziggy, "shit-" Ziggy let out a sigh, "please don't threaten me with a good time Ally." All the cheerleaders did that stupid hair flip at her whilst Janie just stared, she looked guilty, "come on Janie." Allison shouted at her.
"Ziggy- oh my god there you are." Chrissy's voice said from across the opposite end of the hall. Ziggy was dreading this moment, she was obviously good friends with Chrissy so she was worried she would literally hate her. "Chrissy."
"Janie told me what Allison said, I am so sorry." She said to her surprise, "are you not bothered about what I said?"
"I would if it wasn't true...plus what they said very much outweighed what you said."
"Nothing I said was aimed at you by the way." Ziggy looked down and played with her fingers,
"I know Zig and you're not off the squad either, Allison can't decide that, if anything, you have more power to kick her off.""I don't know if it's such a good idea for me to stay on anyway-" Ziggy stopped herself when she noticed Chrissy's mind was else where, she was looking around like she had seen a ghost or something, "is everything okay Chris?"
"Yeah-" her breathe hitched as she looked behind her, "yeah- sorry um I have to go."
"Okay-" she ran away before Ziggy could say anything else, she had been acting super weird recently, skittish, extremely distant from the other cheerleaders.
"Is she okay?" Eddie came through the hall and replaced the spot Chrissy was just in, "I have no idea."
"And are you okay? I heard about what happened at the party." He said, was this all she was going to be hearing all day? "You and everyone else." She sighed, "how are you holding up?"
"I'm okay, the cheerleaders hating me is not something I would've ever imagined but whatever."
"Join the club." Eddie grinned, "they're a bunch of shallow assholes." He placed his hand on her shoulder, "you didn't even really wanna be on the squad anyway though, right?"
"Right." She pursed her lips and shrugged, not really agreeing. "So do you by chance have any..."
"Ziggy." Eddie shook his head like a disapproving parent, "I gave you some on Friday."
"Exactly and now it's Monday." She laughed, "you can have more next Friday." He sighed, "you're no fun." She rolled her eyes, "but fine, I guess I'll wait."
"I just don't want you getting addicted..." Seriously? Now he cares? "It's too late for that. You didn't seem to mind when you were happily taking my money everyday after summer." She raised her voice, Eddie closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "that was before we were friends."
