Chapter 3- Nerves

Aonung then walks to his marui where his parents had been sitting together and fantasizing about their newborn child and how their life would be.

Tonowari notices his son and stands up, "Son, what do you need?" He asks. "The new kids right, why did they come?" Aonung asks. "Why don't you ask them?" Ronal says. "None of them wish to speak about it" He says. "Then it's probably best we don't say, to respect their wishes" Tonowari says sitting back down. "What is there to respect dad? They're here on our clan's land, so why can't I know?" Aonung protests. "Wait for one of them to tell you Aonung, it's a really personal matter" Ronal explains.

"That's what they all said" Aonung mutters. "And that's what they all mean" Ronal says, "Now run along and go play with your friends or whatever" she says dismissing her son.

Aonung grunts and walks angrily out of the marui and back to the boys down at the beach. "So did they tell you?" Koro asks. "No, they say it's really personal and should come from them" Aonung says crossing his arms. "Tamun is the reason that bad?" Nashvi asks him. Tamun sighs heavily and walks off with Rotxo behind him. The boys all look to each other with confusion.

-back with Nal'a and Tal'a-

"Let's go to the spirit tree" Tal'a suggests as Nal'a nods in response before the girls dive into the water and ride their ilu to the spirit tree.

They arrive at the bioluminescent, underwater tree and swim down to the stems before connecting the queues and getting sucked into a vision of the future.

Nal'a's POV

I'm sitting in front of my marui, on the bouncy walk way when I feel someone's hands on my thigh. I look up to see Aonung but then it shifts to Nashvi, going back and forth. I hold the hands of the person as the shifting stops at Aonung. He then comes up on top of me and pulls me into a deep and passionate kiss as if we've been in love since forever.

He pulls away from the kiss and says "I love you" but it begins to shift between him and Nashvi once again. I get up off from underneath and walk down to the beach to find Rotxo and Kiri Sully kissing and smile seeing my cousin happy. I see my sister, the stern and bossy one, cuddling with some guy on the beach, Lo'ak and Tsireya while Neteyam and Tamun weren't there. Everyone was so in love.

I look around to find Aonung walking towards me. He gets to me and pulls me to him by the waist before whispering in my ear, "You'll be mine soon Nal'a whether you deny it or not, Eywa always finds a way" he says before kissing my temple and fading away in the distance as I feel myself getting sucked from the vision.

End of POV

Nal'a gets out of the vision looking at the stem then her queue and back at the stem with disgust. Aonung? Out of all people, why him? She wonders. "Let's go back, it's almost supper" Tal'a signs. (Supper is at eclipse) Nal'a nods as they both ride their ilu back to the village of Awa'atlu.

They arrive and emerge from the water being met by Rotxo, "Come on supper is in about thirty minutes, we usually get there early to help prepare so you guys are right on time" Rotxo says as they walk to the center of the village where supper was prepared.

Tal'a walks to her own age group while Rotxo and Nal'a walk over to the group(sullys, Tsireya, Aonung and his friends, Tamun)

"Good Evening" Nal'a says greeting everyone and sits between Tamun and Rotxo.

"Would you like to help us peel fruits?" Tsireya asks. "Sure" Nal'a says as Tsireya slides her a bucket of fruits. She readies her knife and peels the fruits effortlessly. "Done, anything else for me to do?" Nal'a asks. "Here's a bucket of fish, gut it" Aonung says sliding the bucket over to her. "Then what will you be doing?" Nal'a glares at him. "Taking a break" he responds. She rolls her eyes and begins to gut the fish.
