Chapter 5- Strength

Nal'a wakes up in her pod and gets dressed.

Nal'a comes out from her pod and into the marui where Yuri was sewing blankets. "Morning" she says. "Good Morning dear, how did you sleep?" Yuri asks. "I slept great thanks, where is everyone?" She asks. "Tamun and Rotxo went to the beach to play with the forest kids and your sister is with the other young warriors" Yuri responds.

"Oh okay, do you need any help with those?" She asks referring to the sewing of blankets. "Yes please" Yuri says, "You are the eywa of sewing" she giggles. Nal'a then sits down next to her aunt and begins to sew the blankets fastly and neatly.

"Tomorrow's han'oite" Nal'a says. "Aren't you excited?" Yuri asks looking at her niece with doe eyes. "I am but it just makes me sad knowing I have a reason to participate in han'oite" Nal'a says looking down. "We'll be together, don't worry" Yuri says reassuring her niece.

After a few minutes of sewing, Aonung, Rotxo and Tamun stand in the entrance of the marui blocking the sunlight. Nal'a and Yuri then turn to the boys.

"Can we help you?" Yuri asks the boys. "Nal'a needs to come for warrior training" Aonung says. "I already am one" she says. "Not here you aren't" Aonung says. "Doing this all over again sucks" she says. "You might wanna change" Rotxo says. "I could fight with nothing on" Nal'a says grabbing her spear and leaving with the boys.

"So where do you guys train?" She asks. "On the beach" Rotxo says. "Are women and men separated?" She asks. "Only sometimes" Aonung says. "Tal'a will be there" Tamun added.

They arrive at the beach where Tonowari was with some men sharpening spears and arrows and other men and women sparring.

"Nal'a, so great that you could join us" he greets, "Normally we would separate women and men but I think you can take the challenge" "Most definitely" she says, "So who am I fighting?" She asks.

Tonowari laughs before leading her to the middle of the fighting center and getting everyone's attention. "Everyone, this is Nal'a te yina suri'ite and she will be joining our warrior community" he announces. Nal'a looks around the crowd and locks eyes with Nashvi who smiles and waves at her making her blush to herself.
