Chapter 9- What are we?

Tamun and Rotxo follow Aonung until they get somewhere quiet and corner him by a mangrove tree.

"Woah, what's up guys?" Aonung asks. "We have some questions to ask you" Tamun sighs. "What's up with you and Nal'a?" Rotxo asks crossing his arms. "Someone's overprotective" Aonung scoffs.

"Answer the question Aonung" Tamun says sternly. "Nothing, me and Nal'a are just good friends" he says. "Define good friends" Rotxo says. "Well I don't know, friends with a nice and friendly relationship?" Aonung shrugs.

"Define friends" Tamun demands. "People who have each other's backs and care for each other but in a friendly way" Aonung shrugs once more.

"What were you doing with Nal'a?" Tamun asks. "Sparing" Aonung replies. "We didn't see you at the warrior's training grounds, so where did you spar?" He asks. "Western Beach, the warrior's ground was too crowded, she wanted a full on fight" Aonung replies.

"Isn't the Western Beach the quiet and abandoned part of the village?" Rotxo asks. "Well yeah, she wanted to fight somewhere open so I suggested it" Aonung gulps feeling not so great about sharing the last part. "So you wanted to go somewhere quiet?" Tamun asks.

"No, not at all like that" Aonung shakes it off. "Listen Aonung, whatever you do, don't play with my cousin's feelings" Rotxo says. "She's hurting enough" Tamun adds before they both walk back to the marui.

Meanwhile with Nal'a

Tal'a and Yuri enter the pod where Nal'a was sleeping and lay on Tamun and Rotxo's sleeping mats beside her. Nal'a begins to wake up and rubs her eyes.

"Aah!" She shouts seeing aunt Yuri smirking at her. "Tell us everything" Tal'a says behind her. "Aah!" She shouts again turning to her sister. "Jeez guys, what an unpleasant way to wake up" she says sitting up.

Tal'a and Yuri sit up next to her. "Come on dear tell us, you can trust us" Yuri says holding her shoulder. "Tell you what?" Nal'a asks. "Your love scene with Aonung" Tal'a says scooting in closer. "Did you kiss? Did he touch you? Did you make love with one another?" Yuri asks excitedly.

"We didn't make love, but we did kiss" Nal'a says. Yuri and Tal'a then jump with excitment. "Oh my eywa this is so exciting!" Yuri shouts excitedly. "But you can't tell anyone" Nal'a warns. "Of course, lips sealed" Tal'a says with a finger over her lips.

"You better tell us when you have sex" Tal'a says. "That's kinda embarrassing" Nal'a says. "Not really, it would be if you were talking to Tamun or Rotxo" Yuri shrugs. "Hey where are they?" Nal'a asks.

"They went down to the beach" Tal'a lies. "You know I can tell when you're lying tsmuke" Nal'a says, "Where are they?" She asks sternly. "They followed Aonung after he dropped you off" Yuri sighs, "It was my idea" she looks down in shame.

"Oh well" Nal'a shrugs. "You're not mad?" Tal'a asks. "Whatever happens, happens" Nal'a says calmly while looking for clothes to wear. "Are you sure he didn't make love to you?" Aunt Yuri asks confused at the girl's sudden mood change.

"Yeah I'm sure" Nal'a giggles, "I'd like to get dressed if that's okay with you both" Nal'a says opening the curtain that closed her pod. "Yes, of course" Yuri says leaving the pod with Nal'a behind her.
