Lane Valhalla sat on one of the crates in his abandoned warehouse with his pet hedgehog, Harry eating beside him. In the palm of his hand was his beyblade, Lucifer The End.

Well, what was left of it anyway.

He was still trying to figure out what happened during that battle. How the hell did the blue rooster manage to overpower his flare and break his bey?

Speaking of flare, it was a surprising sight for Lane. The last time he battled that rooster, his flare was not that impressive. In that moment however, it grew tenfold, a far cry from what he was used to seeing.

How did it grow so drastically? How was he able to surpass him so easily?

As the purple haired boy pondered, he heard footsteps somewhere in his warehouse, alerting him and Harry.

Lane stood up and demanded, "Who's there?"

From the shadows, a familiar yet unexpected figure stepped forth.

"Huh, Asahi?" Lane uttered as he looked at the blue blader standing in front of him. "The hell are you doing here? You've already broken Lucifer. What more do you want from me?"

Hikaru only stood there silently as he stared at Lane, which made the latter a bit irritated.

"If you don't have anything to say, then get lost. I don't need you to mock me further." Lane retorted, with Harry hissing at Hikaru.

Hikaru stood in his place as he anxiously held a knife behind his back.

"What are you waiting for?" a voice said in the back of his mind. "This is the perfect chance to strike. Kill him!"

"No, this is wrong. I'm not doing this." Hikaru responded back in his head.

"Tch, he has caused you this much pain, and yet you don't want to rid yourself of him?"

"Breaking his bey was already enough. I'm not killing him! This is too far!"

The voice in his head growled as it grew agitated by the boy's defiance.

"You...you dare disobey me?" It bellowed, striking fear in the blue boy. "I led you to this very moment to ease your mind, and now you reject my help?!"

Hikaru sweated in fear. He knew what was coming for him if he disobeyed his partner.

"Fine. If you do not wish to do it, then I will!"

"Lane, run."

The purple haired boy saw the horrified look on the blue boy's face, but did not understand what was going on. That was, until a knife suddenly dropped from Hikaru's back.

An expression of shock painted itself on Lane's face when he saw the blade. "That knife. What the hell were you planning on doing, Asahi?!"

The bluenette ignored his question and began to step back from the purple blader. He was struggling with something, something inside him.

"Just get away from here! I can't hold him back for long!" Hikaru pleaded to Lane as he began clutching his head in pain. "Gah!"

"Who are you talking about?!" Lane asked again, still not understanding the situation.

"ME!" Hikaru suddenly lunged at the Lucifer blader and pinned him down to the ground. He grabbed his neck and began squeezing it.

Lane was forced to gaze at his attacker, noticing that his normally lime green eyes were now a piercing turquoise. A mad and desperate grin was etched onto his face.

The purple boy tried to pry Hikaru's hands off of his neck, but for some reason, he was far too strong.

"What's wrong? Too weak?" Hikaru taunted. Lane felt as though there was something off with his voice, but he was getting more and more lightheaded to think as he was slowly deprived of oxygen.

His pet hedgehog tried to save its owner by biting the attacker's arm, only to be flung across the room.

"Harry!" Lane screamed for his little companion before feeling the pressure on his neck increasing. All the while, the blue boy was laughing at his torment.

"I'll snap your neck like a twig!" he gleefully said as he squeezed Lane's neck even tighter.

As the purple blader's vision grew darker and darker, all of a sudden, the pressure was gone. When he slowly regained his bearings, he was met with an unexpected sight.

Hikaru was chocking himself.

His eyes were visibly different from one another. His right eye was his normal green ones, while his left was the eerie turquoise.

"Gah! What do think you're doing, boy?!" He snarled at, himself?

"I'm not letting you kill him!" Hikaru said again. It was as if there were two personalities fighting for control.

Truth be told, that was the case.

"Tch, stop interfering! You have no control here! I took that away from you the moment you felt sympathy for him!" The other within the blue boy's mind yelled. But Hikaru persevered for as long as he could.

"Lane! Get away as far as you can!" The normal Hikaru cried out. "Just go! Shu will have all the answers you want!"

What? His teacher knew something about this?

As much as Lane wanted to ask more, his life was on the edge here. He gradually stood up as quickly as he could before grabbing Harry and getting the heck out of there.

After Lane had left for long enough, Hikaru gave up from exhaustion, allowing whatever was trying to possess him to once again have control, both of his eyes now turquoise.

It was angry. He was angry.

Helios was angry.

"Now look what you've done!" the bey spirit growled at his host, upset the fact that the boy let his victim get away.

"I'll be sure to punish you for your disobedience."
