Everyone was staring. Literally everywhere he looked, it seemed that everyone gave him a glance. A side-eye. A vacant stare. Whispers he could've heard if he cared to listen. He walked down the corridor, trying his best not to interact with someone as behind him Lizo followed from not so far away. Banny held his head low.May saw him and was about to call out to him, but he walked right past her. Not even acknowledging her presence. He was heading towards his locker. Why was it situated, so far away from him. Right near the downstairs female bathroom. He turned the corner and bumped into something. A girl. A first-year to be exact.
She had went face first into his chest and staggered back as he held her up by her arms."Sorry, I didn't see you there," he said as genuinely as possible.
"It's honestly fi-" she paused, her eyes lifted to his face and saw him, "You."
Her face paled as he realised what she meant. She must've heard about it as well, she must've been terrified.
"I saw you... you did it," she said.
He looked at her, confusion displayed itself on his face as he sighed and placed his hand on his face.
"Look. I don't know what you think you saw, but you've got the wrong guy, okay? Now imma get going," he said.
He walked passed her"Wait."
He turned around to look at her, his face expressionless once again.
"I'm Elizma," she said.
Why though, why was she telling him her name? It made no sense. She was probably insane, possibly still shook from what she saw that day.
He looked away and continued walking.
Lizo popped up from behind Elizma.
"Sorry about his behaviour. Banny is having a bad day," he said.
"So his name really is Banny, I would've thought that she lied," said Elizma looking at Banny walk away.
"She?" beckoned Lizo.
"Doesn't matter, do I know you?"
"Oh, pardon my rudeness. I'm Lizo," he said picking up her hand and kissing it in what seemed to be quite an old showing gesture and he said, "Pleasure to meet you Elizma, but I gotta catch up to my friend there."
She smiled at him and said, "You're a kanima."
"Nagual, Aztec. How did you know that?" he said looking at her.
"I have my way around magic," she giggled.
"Well, aren't you the extraordinary one. Well I should really get going though. I'm new to the school and all," said Lizo, "Do you perhaps know where room 14 is?"
"I'm only a first-year. I don't know where most things are. You're a third-year, right?" she asked staring into his eyes.
"Second-year. I should be a third-year, but I thought since I get to pick which year I'd like to be in, I'd like to spend a little more than just two years at this academy," he smiled.
"You have pretty eyes by the way... sorry that was weird of me, but they're. . . aesthetic," she said lowering her head in embarrassment and shyness.
Lizo hadn't even noticed that he had switched to his nagual vision, his eyes had been glowing for the last few minutes while talking to her. That would only happen on his own command, yet he was unaware of it.
They returned to their normal brown hue and he apologised, before leaving.
Banny continued walking past everyone, in a power walking pace.
