Chioma woke up, the sunlight dancing on her skin. Her hair was messy, her body weak. Everything about the moment from last night to her falling asleep to her waking up felt surreal. A smile had grown on her face and she hadn't even realised it yet. She rolled over, expecting to see Banny beside her, but nothing. She frowned, quickly realising that she wasn't in the same room she was in last night. She slowly got out of bed, slowly letting her feet touch the floor before pushing herself off the bed to a standing position. She looked in the mirror, her face was a burning red.

"How did I get here?" she thought, staring into the mirror.
She remembered what happened the previous night and how euphoric it was, but now she was in a different room. Did Banny somehow carry her to another room after she had fallen asleep and if so, why do such a bad move. She was going to get answers, so she walked to the room he was kept at. Bumping into Katherine's father on the way. Marcus Jaegerjaquez, one of the Royal Vampires. He was tall, very tall. At least 6 foot 7 inches tall, his body's ripped and defined physique surely made him appear taller than what he was. The dominance effect it had on lesser people. He had golden eyes that stared lazily and apathetically at people, a stare which made you feel that he was uninterested in everything. Tanned dark skin, that was decorated by a large golden scar that run up his left colour bone, round the front of his neck and finding its final destination on the right side of his chin. His pitch black hair, straight and strong like steel wool splayed all over his face.

"Good morning, Chioma," his said. His accent was very English, pure and formal. It wasn't done intentionally, it was just how he spoke, "I wasn't aware that you stayed over."

"Yes. Sorry, Uncle Marcus. David and Katherine offered to let me stay the night after a certain incident happened yesterday," said Chioma, trying her best to sound formal.

"Certain incident... would that be related to the stabbing of the girl? The academy is facing a lot of drama, is it not? First the murder, now the stabbing," he said looking away.

Chioma noted that he hadn't known about the fact that she was attacked the previous day so she carried on with the scheme, "Yes, Uncle."

"And that brings me to that lycanthrope that also stayed over. A friend of yours, I presume?" he asked looking at her with a single brow raised.

She hadn't realised that he knew that Banny also stayed, perhaps he had walked in on them while they... I mean he does have supernatural hearing. Wait, everyone in the house does, except for Kat. The thoughts raced in Chioma's head as she started sweating.

"Don't be so worried, I didn't see it. The scent of a dog is strong enough for me to pick it up a mile away," he said, assuming that she was panicking because he had interacted with Banny.

"Yes, yes. Thank goodness. Well, you see. He was also very injured from whatever attack happened yesterday and David thought it would be best to bring him here. Wouldn't want there to be any more eyes on the school," she said in a rush of words. Improvising was what she was best at.

"How is Uncle Mercy?" he asked her, realising that she hadn't mentioned him.

"He's doing fine, he's been out more often. I'm guessing something related to the upcoming Full Moon?" said Chioma looking down.

"I see, you should probably get going. I have a business meeting to attend to and you have school in about two hours," he said, opening the door which was to his right.

Chioma hadn't noticed that she had been standing outside the bathroom this entire time. The mansion was a grand one, indeed. She continued making her way to the room Banny had slept in and paused at the door. Hearing him speak. She placed her hand on the door knob, waiting for whatever he was saying to finish.
