Roman lay in his hospital room, the air so still that he could almost hear the beating of his own heart. He had just woken up an hour ago and was surrounded by his relieved parents. They were crying tears of joy, but also uneasy as they told him what had happened to him. His face fell when his family told him that they didn't know anything yet about his brothers, but thankfully their families were with them so no one was alone. His parents then shared the news that he'd been shot in the chest but miraculously, it had missed all of his vital organs--he had made it through surgery to repair the damage from the bullet and was left with a scar, but no permanent damage.
The minutes slowly ticked by as he waited for his parents to return with news of his brothers. Fear and dread crept through him as he imagined the worst-case scenarios. He had seen the terrible wounds on Dean and Seth's bodies before they were all shot by that bastard, Cena, and he couldn't bear the thought of finding out that any of them might be gone forever. His thoughts raced, and he wondered if Cena was in custody or if he was... dead. Just then, his mother walked into the room alone, her eyes full of sadness.
"Well?" Roman asked nervously. "How... how are Dean, Seth, and Randy?" He demanded as his mother sighed shakily and sat on the edge of his bed beside him and took his hand.
"Randy, was shot in the stomach, he had to have surgery, like you, to remove part of his liver but thankfully, it's not life threatening. Seth, has a broken nose, and a broken left orbital bone. He also has a broken left arm and cuts and bruises all over his face and body. He was shot in the chest but he wasn't as lucky as you, son, it nicked his right lung and he needed surgery to fix it. Neither are awake yet." She explained sadly, wiping away her tears as she kissed an upset Roman's forehead.
"How... how's Dean?" Roman asked as his tears fell silently.
"Unfortunately, Dean's list of injuries is longer because of his being kidnapped by John. Like, Seth, he has cuts and bruises all over his face and body, they stitched up the more serious ones; the one on his right eyebrow, cheek, lip and chin, so in total he has 50 stitches. He also has a broken nose, right orbital bone, right leg and right arm, as well as four ribs. He also has a severe concussion, but the Doctors are worried about his bullet wound. He was shot in the chest, the bullet didn't hit the heart but it did nick it and he almost... died on the operating table." She explained sadly as she took Roman in her arms and they cried together.
"So... so, I could lose them?" Roman asked devastated.
"Oh, my boy, I'm so, so sorry." His mother said as she held him tight.
Roman's body felt heavy, his chest tightening. It was impossible to think straight; a million thoughts were running through his mind. He had never felt more helpless in his entire life than he did at this moment. He could lose three of the most important people to him all because one psychotic bastard felt fucking forgotten by them. His throat burned with fear and desperation as he clenched his fists, what the hell was he going to do if he lost one or all of them? They had to be okay, dammit, they just had to be!
"Wh-what happened to Cena?" Roman asked angrily.
"He was arrested, he's with the Police right now." His mother answered as the hug ended.
"Can I see them?" Roman asked.
"No, honey, not right now." Roman's mother said as she brushed his hair off his forehead. "They need rest and so do you, you had surgery too, sweetheart."
"When can I see them then?"
"When the Doctors say it's okay." She answered. "Now, you need to rest, Roman, or you won't be strong enough to see them when they wake up."
