I lay awake in bed with a terrible cramp in my abdomen. The pain shoots through my lower back and to my spine. it's almost as if it's a contraction but it can't be im barely 6 moths pregnant. I begin to go into panic mode.

"Idina are you okay?" James asks sitting up.

"James... my stomach hurts like bad almost labor pains bad," I choke out.

"Oh my god you've gotta go to the hospital," he says lifting me up bridal style and taking me down to our car he lays me in the back seat cautiously and runs up to grab Walker.

Once I see James Carrying my sleeping baby boy down stairs I adjust myself so he has room. Once Walker is buckled in we speed off to the hospital.

We wait in the E.R for what feels like an eternity. I'm finally wheeled back to a room. Thankfully it's private.

There's a knock on the door. the doctor then Walks in. "Well What seems to be the problem," The young woman asks.

I can barley talk the pains in my stomach are so bad. I look at James asking him to speak for me "She's pregnant and she has severe stomach cramps she said it feels like the onset of labor," he continues to tell the doctor what medications I've been on and other medical history there wasn't much to tell.

"Okay this is a very common thing sometimes the baby wants to be out before they are ready so they make their way to the lowest spot they can find and sometimes it can be the start of labor, which we won't know if it really is until we monitor the contractions. this is normally caused by the mother stressing out too much about day to day things which will make her blood pressure go too high. We're assuming this is the cause cause you haven't smoked, drank or done anything wrong that could affect the baby luckily there's a lot we can so to help slow labor down and eventually stop it," she explains

I look up at her hopefully "Like what?" I ask quietly as she hooks me up to a machine to check the baby's heart beat and check the contractions.

"You're definitely going into labor by looking at the rate of your contractions," she tells me I feel my mind go blank "So we can either give you medicine to speed up the development of the babies lungs and let you have the baby now or give you medicine to slow the labor down, neither of them work perfectly every time but we've had successes with both, it's all your choice,"

"James your this baby's father you deserve some say in this what do you think we should do?" I ask him.

"I say slow the labor down but it is your body at the end of the day," he answers

I feel caught in the middle of a rock and a hard place either method could end up being a catastrophe. However I know it would be best to just let the baby develop more, "I want the medicine to slow down the labor," I say as a contraction comes along I scrunch my nose in pain.

"Alright I'm just going to get your IV and we should be all set," she says exiting.the room. Once she leaves I burst into tears.

"Dee what's wrong?"James asks

"It's all my fault," I sob into his shoulder.

"No it's not Dee don't blame yourself for things you can't control," he says rubbing my back.

"It is we wouldn't have almost lost our baby If it weren't for me, I screw everything up,"

"Honey, it's going to be okay that precious baby isn't going to leave that belly until it's ready to. You're in good hands here. Please just relax everything is going to be okay,"

"It's not okay Something's are not okay," I wince.

The doctor walks back in with an IV she gives me a instructions to hunch over as best as I can since the needle has to go into my lower back James holds my hand as the needle goes in. I lay there hunched over until all the medicine is in.

"Just incase you need it we're also going to prescribe you a blood pressure pill just to make sure that everything stays as normal," the doctor says.

As another hour or so goes by my labor subsides I'm relieved knowing that my baby is okay. I sit on the hospital bed starting at my big belly. I smile as I feel the baby begin to kick. I begin to hum a little lullaby my hand resting on my belly I feel content with the world.

A the doctor makes a trip to my room. "Ms Menzel as long as your feeling okay and comfortable you can go pick up your prescription and go home. I also am going to have you on bed rest," My heart stops at those two words.
