Michaels P.O.V.

I sat in the living room on the phone with room service, “Yes I would like two breakfast platters with sides of fruit, some orange juice, and milk,” I said looking through the menu. “Yes sir, we’ll have it right up to your room in a few minutes Mr. Jackson,” the man on the phone said in a very professional tone. I quietly laughed to myself, “Please call me Michael and thank you,” I replied trying not to laugh. I find it funny when people call me Mr. Jackson, I’m not that old! Mr. Jackson is my dad. I put down the phone and headed toward the balcony when I heard a loud thump. It sounded as if it were from the bathroom. I walked up to the door and listened. I knocked lightly calling, “Saria? Are you okay?” I waited for a reply but I was answered back with silence. I kept calling to her and began to panic, what do I do? Should I barge in and invade her privacy, but she may also be hurt! I made up my mind and slowly opened the door. I covered my eyes with one hand while my other hand searched for the wall. I took my hand from my face because I couldn’t see anyway; the room was thick with covering of steam. I made my way to the shower and turned the knobs off, I found her entangled in the shower curtain. I grabbed the nearest towel and began to cover her as I pulled her out of the bundled curtain. “Saria, can you hear me?” I asked really concerned. She wasn’t responding so I picked her up and carried her into the bedroom; I sat her down on the bed and covered her in the covers. I ran to the phone and dialed my manager’s number. “Hello?” I heard Franks voice on the other end. “Frank it’s Mike, I need the doctor here now, she collapsed in the shower and she’s not responding!” I blurted so fast that it probably sounded like I was rambling. “Okay I’ll get a hold of the doc and have him there in 5!” Frank said full of concern. “Okay thanks, I’m going to go check on her,” I said quietly as I sat the phone back down. I went to the side of the bed and sat there next to her, she looked pained by the facial expression she was displaying, like she was in a bad dream. I began to sing softly while stroking her hair, her face relaxed into a slight smile. It made me feel a little better, but nothing will take away this guilt I feel inside. While I was singing to her, I heard a knock on the door; I ran into the other room and opened it quickly. “Hi doc-,” I stopped in mid-sentence because it wasn’t the doctor; it was only a hotel staff member with the breakfast I had ordered. “Hello, your food sir,” he said bringing it into to the main area of the suite. “Oh thank you, here’s a tip and you have a nice day,” I said handing him some money kind of rushing him out of the room. As I went to the door to let him out, I opened it to find the doctor standing outside it about to knock. “Oh I’m so glad you’re here doctor,” I said letting him in. “have a nice day,” the bellboy said leaving closing the door behind him. I turned to look at the doctor who was a little confused by what was going on. “My uh... my friend is hurt, and she’s been through a lot in the past day, she really needs to be checked out,” I said showing him into the room where I had left her. As we walked in I noticed she was opening her eyes and squirming around in the mass covers I had wrapped her in. I ran to her side and untangled some of the covers. “Saria, your awake!” I said relieved. “What’s going on?” she said in such a sweet voice. Other than her saying she would like a shower, it was the first time hearing her say something.

Her voice so soft and sweet, like the warm breeze in the hot summer days, it sent chills up my spine. “I had frank schedule a check up for you, and a good thing too after what just happened,” I said looking her in the eyes, her big blue-green oceans of eyes. “Okay so what do we have here?” asked Doctor Wright, setting his bag on the end of the bed pulling some of his tools out. “Well,” I spoke up knowing she wouldn’t want to talk about it, “she was…she was um…beat and……..,” I looked at doctor Wright hoping he was catching my drift. “Oh okay,” he said, “What happened today?” she spoke up and added, “I don’t remember exactly what happened, all I know is I was taking a shower and went light headed and woke up in the bed.” she tried pulling more of the covers off until she realized she was essentially naked, her cheeks blazed red. i giggled as i helped her up covering herself in a sheet to go change into her clothes. “So it seems,” the doctor said walking into the bathroom to wash his hands and back out into the room to Saria and I, “that after the events of yesterday you’re suffering from some traumatic repercussions.” He slid on some gloves and began his check up. He went through a lot of procedures; taking blood samples for tests, checking her reflexes, her eyes, hearing, blood pressure, and other stuff. I sat quietly to the side of her holding her hand; I felt her tense up as he came at her with the needles for blood. I held her hand gently and tightly as I looked at her and mouthed, ‘it’ll be okay,’ and embraced her in a half-hug. The doctor slid off one glove then the next, “well all seems fine at the moment, and no severe damage was done. I’ll get back with you when I receive the test results. For the next couple of days you should just take it easy and rest as much as possible.” He said zipping up his bag and heading towards the door. He stopped and turned around, “where should I contact you at?” Before Saria could answer I opened my mouth, “Here. She’s going to be staying with me for awhile.” I said realizing what had just came out of my mouth. Her face went blank as she looked at me, but the doctor just answered back, “okay I should have the results in soon, so I guess I’ll just get a hold of you here.” “Thank you so much doc I really appreciate it,” I said shaking his hand as we walked to the door. “No problem, if something else happens within the rest of the evening and tomorrow, call me.” He said opening the door. “Okay, will do. Thanks again,” I said as he shut the door. I turned around to see that she hadn’t moved an inch since I said she’d be staying with me, oh no I scared her. I walked over to the bed and pulled up a chair to sit across from her. “Saria?” I said very quietly.
