"I'm simply just checking on her." Regulus stated.

"That doesn't make it any less—"

"What do you want, James?" He cut him off. The tall young man with messy brown curls, put his hands right up in mock surrender. "What?! Can't a man just check on his niece and make sure she's doing okay?" Regulus rolled his eyes, rubbing at his temple — This man was going to be the death of him. Again.

"She's not your—"

"No. She is."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night then." The handsome man with an air of boyish flair surrounding him, grinned in triumph, "As if we need it, Reg." Walking up to Regulus to sit right next to him on the girl's bed. Carina was laid peacefully in bed, the comforter up to her torso — She was finally managing a good night's sleep once in her life. Unfortunately for her, the girl often times had trouble entering the kingdom of sleep. Tough times, they were, on her.

"How is she doing?"

"Sleeping." Replied Regulus sarcastically.

James shoved him playfully in response, glaring at him, "I can see that!" Regulus smirked for a short second before it soon fell as he gazed at the girl's resting face, watching her exhale puffs of breath from her slightly agape mouth. "Tired."

James hummed. "It's no fair that you and Artie spoke with her and I didn't," He pouted. "Can we wake her?" Before he began to inch forward his hand towards the sleeping girl to pull her from her slumber, Regulus slapped it away causing James to whine in protest. "No!"

James potter gritted his teeth, annoyed. He wanted his chance. James desperately wanted to strike a conversation with Carina, as did another — Lily Evans-Potter — Just as they were all finally able to reach out to her and communicate with her. This phenomenon; it was almost extraordinary. Happened to very few, only to a handful of witches and wizards — them being able to see and keep in touch with the dead. They were not completely unheard of, no, but they were mostly shunned out from society. Outcasts. Crazy people. Seen as deranged and mentally ill — tweaked in the head. Most people believed they were making it up as it wasn't a very common gift to have in the wizarding world.
