A few days had passed and Christmas was finally about to come right around the corner.

Carina's aunt, Andromeda was nagging about in the letters she kept sending her, insisting that she wanted her to come home straight away, instantly for the holidays, but Carina kept refusing. She remarked about how all her friends will be staying and if they were staying then so will she.

Thankfully, the letters had stopped. Thanks, unc' Ted, Carina expressed in gratitude, mentally.

The four teenagers were sat around the fire in the deserted common room having it all to themselves. Ron and Carina were munching away on some sweets, both laying down on the warm floor and Hermione had all her homework spread over a table. Meanwhile, Harry was slumped into an arm chair next to the fire. Snow was still falling peacefully outside the windows. And Crookshanks was spread out in front of the fireplace like a ginger rug next to Carina who scratched behind his ears every once in a while making him purr in delight.

The Golden Quartet had the Gryffindor tower all to them-selves.

Hermione slowly set her quill down, her brown eyes peering over anxiously at Harry and Carina.

"Listen, you two," Began Hermione, exchanging a strange look with Ron who stopped mid-chew. "You must be really upset about what you both heard days ago. But the thing is, you two mustn't go doing anything stupid."

"Like what?" Harry asked.

"Like trying to go after Black," Uttered Ron sharply.

It was then that Harry and Carina immediately knew that Ron and Hermione had rehearsed and prepared this conversation earlier. Probably somewhere in the middle of the few days that passed. "You won't, right?" Hermione said, "Because Black's not worth dying for," Ron added. Carina flinched at the name and Harry looked at them in disbelief.

"D'you know what I hear every time the Dementors get near me? Do you know what Carina hears?!" Harry's voice had risen by now. Ron and Hermione glanced at Carina with concern who avoided their gazes. "I hear my mum and Rina's mum pleading with Voldemort! Carina hears it too! And Black who was supposed to be their friend betrayed them!" He spat Black's name as if it were venom.

"You wouldn't forget something like that in a hurry." Carina silently added looking down at her lap. "Exactly!"

"I'm sorry, but there's nothing that you two can do!" Hermione yelled at them. "The Dementors will catch him and he'll go back to Azkaban, where he belongs and— and they'll serve him right!" Her eyes were now shining with tears, "Please, you two, be sensible! He did a terrible, horrible thing, but don't put your lives in danger, it's what Black wants! You'd be going right into his trap. Both your parents wouldn't want that for you!" — If only Hermione knew, Carina thought.
