Newt's POV
The sky in the glade used to be grey and depressing. But now the sky is bright and blue. And its all because of an amazing girl named Maxie- I literally can't stop smiling when she walks near me. I didn't believe before that something as simple as a smile can go so far but she always cheers me up. She has been in the glade for seven months and I began to really like her after a month or so. And now I have such a crush on her.

The only person that knows is Chuck- he said he could see the love I had for her in my eyes. He made me admit that I liked her and ever since I admitted, he's been trying to convince me to tell her of my feelings. Chuck won't give in until we're together but I just know that Maxine doesn't like me in that way. But I wish she would so so much.

At lunch I sat down on a table with Thomas, Minho and Chuck. Minho was saying something about the digital watches the runners had so I just sort of zoned out. I saw Maxie in the distance, walking towards our table. I panicked and quickly sat up straight and fussed with my hair. It probably looked worse now. She took a seat next to Thomas who was sat opposite me. Chuck nudged me and then winked. I ignored him. I didn't want to look like a bloody idiot in front of Maxie.

"Hi guys! What's up?" She asked with her usual cheery smile. The smile that lights up the whole glade. After lunch, we all set off to work again. I had to go into the dead heads to get some fertiliser for the crops and then I noticed Chuck racing to catch up with me. "Chuck, what you doing? You're supposed to be cleaning the kitchen."

I waited for Chuck to catch his breath before he answered, "I told Maxie that you like her." My heart raced and my face turned pale. "What! Chuck! Why? I told you not to Chuck!" I was so angry with him. But he was, after all, Chuck and I couldn't stay angry at him for long. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Maxine staring at me. I closed my eyes tight. Oh god she does know. This wasn't just another one of Chucks pranks. He was being serious. He had told her of my feelings for her.

Chuck smiled and whispered," Its about time you two get together." Maxine continued to stare at us."You can thank me later." Chuck said to me before running off - hopefully to go clean the kitchen. I just sighed and got back to work. I couldn't just sit around all day and cry about it. But I as sure as hell couldn't stop thinking about it.

Before I went to sleep I wanted to go to the look out tower. It was such an amazing night and I just had to see the stars. They were so luminous and sparkled in the sky above me. They were almost as beautiful as- My thoughts were interrupted when I heard footsteps coming up the stairs of the look out tower.

My heart beat increased for the second time today. What if it was Maxine? It would be so embarrassing. And it was her. She noticed I was there and instead of turning and walking away she sat down beside me and and kissed me.

The kiss was warm and gentle and left me speechless. I was in complete shock. When she pulled away she said,"I had to do that. Sorry" She looked down. And then I replied, "Well then don't hate me for this." I kissed her passionately, her hands tangled in my hair, my hands holding her face.

When we broke away she said "Chuck told me you liked me. And I was so happy because well..." She trailed off. "I like you too."

I smiled. The sky illuminated her face and she looked so beautiful. And the fact that she liked me back was just too much to ask for. Then I realised I didn't just like this girl.

I loved her.
