Y/N's POV

I could hear the mechanical whir of the griever get louder. Louder. And louder.

I'm not going to get out of here alive, I whispered to myself.

I was in a small hiding spot, hidden by ivy. I shut my eyes tight, wishing it would all be over. I couldn't take it anymore.

The griever made an inhuman noise that made me shiver with fear. Suddenly I could see it.

An ugly creature. One who only knows to kill. The griever.

It had seen me.

The griever gnashed it's ugly teeth at me as if to say, 'this is where your head goes'.

I turned to run but stopped. My legs were sore. Come on, I told myself. Move!

But I couldn't.

A single tear rolled down my cheek. Just one, I told myself. One tear.

It was for Thomas. The boy I love that I will never see again.

"Goodbye Thomas." I whispered. "I'm sorry."

The griever was so close now.

I gritted my teeth and waited.

But nothing happened for a while. I opened my eyes to see no griever.

I felt someone stroke my hair. "You're okay. You're okay." He whispered, soothingly.

"I love you." I whispered, before I fell into darkness...

*Dream starts*

Thomas was in the homestead with Newt. They are talking. "Newt... I think I love her..." Thomas said to Newt. "Then go tell her." Newt said. "I-I can't...." Thomas whispered.

"Why not. I'm sure Y/N loves you just as much." Newt said.

Thomas nodded.

"If she ever got hurt... I-I..." Thomas started. Newt put a hand on his shoulder. "She is strong. She'll be fine." Newt reassured.
"I hope so." Thomas said. "I love her." He repeated.

*Dream ends*

I woke up to the smell of stale blood. I opened my eyes to see a very worried Thomas looking down at me. He smiled.

I closed my eyes again. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Thomas." I said. "I should've got back in time." I put my hands to my face, to cover my expression.

"No. I'm here now. That's all that matters." Thomas said, hugging me.

"How'd you- how'd you get in here?" I asked. Thomas smiled. "Through the door. Duh." He said.

"No like... They let you?" I asked, confused.

"Um no. But I couldn't leave you in here could I? I love you." Thomas said, hugging me tighter.

"I- I just had a dream that you said that.... You told Newt." I whispered.

"That wasn't a dream Y/N. It happened. " Said Thomas, looking at me.

"So you mean all that?" I asked, confused.

"You bet." Said Thomas, kissing my nose. "C'mon, the doors will be opening soon." He said, picking me up. I giggled and he smirked.

We waited for the doors to open and when we were in the glade, boys surrounded me shouting stuff like, "They're alive!!!" and, "Good job, you survived."

I blanked them all and focused on Thomas. Just looking at his handsome face. And he was mine now.

After we were all cleaned up and taken care of, he took me to the lookout tower. It was a beautiful night.

He turned to me and said, "You know once I came up here and wished upon a star that maybe one day you would like me. Maybe even love me."

"I liked you then. But I love you now." I said.

He gave me a kiss and snuggled up with me on the lookout tower.

I looked at him and then at the stars.

And I knew everything would be alright.
