"Matteo, can I ask you a question?" Lilly asked, looking up at him.
"That was a question." he joked.
She giggled, "I mean a different question, just something that I'm curious about."
He nodded, "What is your question then?"
"Why do you call me 'flo...
It's been a while since I worked on this story and I deeply apologize for that (I know I say that too much, it's a habit)

A few days had passed since Matteo's birthday, things were looking pretty good for everybody after the party. There was more life in the mansion than there was before, and seeing Matteo so happy had made Lilly uncontrollably happy.
There wasn't much work that needed to be done for a while, so Matteo was able to just sit and play with Lilly when she wanted (which was almost every second of every day) without worry. She had gotten so attached to Matteo, even when he tried pushing her away sometimes, she still would want him more.
Matteo and Lilly had been sitting on the floor in her room. Lilly had wanted to color, but she also wanted to be by Matteo. She was sitting the opposite side of him, passing him some coloring supplies so he could work on the other page in her coloring book. He didn't want to color, but he did it to make her happy.
For each page they completed, they got a star sticker on their face. These were the rules Lilly came up with just to have an excuse just to put stickers on Matteo's face and have a funny image in her head at the end of it.
"You're coloring outside the lines again, baby." Matteo pointed out to Lilly.
"No I'm no— oh." Lilly paused once she realized he was right, looking down at the color marks outside of the black lines.
Lilly smiled at the sound of Matteo's chuckle. It always made her feel happy when he would do that because it let her know that he was happy too. After knowing all the reasons he had barely felt happy, she wanted to fix it and give him something else to think about. It seemed like just her presence was enough for him to feel that kind of joy.
As Lilly continued to color, she was starting to become frustrated with her hair getting in her way. Matteo heard the slight sounds of annoyance that she was making, looking over at her to see how aggressively she kept taking the hair away from her face.
He got up from the floor while Lilly kept coloring, walking over to her nightstand and taking a hair tie before walking back to her. He knelt down behind her and began putting her hair up into a ponytail which had caught her by surprise for a moment.
Matteo finished up and took his hands away from her hair, "Is that better?"
Lilly nodded her head while making sure he couldn't see her face turning red again from that simple action, "Thank you." she said quietly.
