"Texting your drivers again?" Sophie asked Christina once she saw her on her phone again. They were currently on a break for lunch.
"Lewis hasn't been answering," Christina sighed, putting her phone down, frustrated.
"I think he's behind you," Sophie looked past her. "Don't play with me, Soph."
"No, I'm serious, Christina. They're all here, "
Christina shook her head in disbelief as she turned around to look. She jumped off her seat, screaming as she noticed Lewis standing some feet away from her and run into his arms.
"Ahhhh, my girl," Lewis laughed as he wrapped his arms around her and spinning her around. The hugest smile appeared on her lips as she saw some more drivers standing there as well. She hadn't seen them for a month.
"20 euros, you said it," Carlos told Lando with a smirk, and the McLaren driver pulled the money out of his pocket and passed it to him.
"I hate it when you win," Lando whined. "Mostly because you never win," Carlos smiled.
"What did you bet about?" Max asked them as he joined the conversation while Christina was still talking to Lewis.
"If she'd hug Charles before Lewis," Carlos explained.
"It's too early to make it public. I say they won't tell us until Friday, " Max stated.
"Oh, you're on!" Lando replied.
"Let me see you!" Max walked towards the girl. "You're still tiny," he told her, embracing her in a tight hug. Christina laughed at their jokes as everyone had something to say. They were here.
Lewis, Max, Carlos, Lando, George.
Charles.
Her eyes met his, and her heart skipped a bit. She hadn't seen him in so long, and now that they were finally in the same room, she couldn't greet him like she wanted.
"Hi," he smiled at her making the dimples show and Christina's knees went weak. "Hi"
"What are you guys doing here?" Christina asked, looking among them.
"I believed that you'd be bored here, so came to offer you some time with amazing me," Lando stated.
"We're trying to win her back, not push her more away, Lando," George exclaimed, making everyone laugh.
"I have two hours before I have to go back to work. Let's have lunch together, yeah?" Christina offered, and everyone agreed. "I'm going to take my stuff. Wait here,"
Christina took them to her favorite restaurant that was close to the set. The food there was really good and the place was really private.
Charles was growing frustrated at the lack of attention he was getting from the girl. It felt like everyone tried to keep her away from him even though she tried to talk with him.
Lewis had currently his arm over her shoulder, and they walked together in front of the rest of the group. Earlier, Max was talking to her, having a separate conversation from the rest of the group. And before that, Lando was telling her how he'd love to meet Cillian Murphy.
Thankfully, in lunch, they got to sit opposite of each other so at least he could stare at her all he liked without being questioned at. Plus, they could kick each other under the table when they were bored.
During lunch, different conversation topics were discussed. The drivers mostly talked about their races and how it was not having Christina around as their interviewer. Needless to say that they all missed her since she was one of the few interviewers that focused on racing and not on their personal lives.
