It wasn't hard to notice that Christina was having the time of her life with the drivers. At the beginning, she was scared that she wouldn't fit in, that all of this would turn to a mistake. But everyone there was nothing but kind to her.
They made her feel accepted, which was really important since Christina herself felt like a fish out of the water.
Even the situation with Charles seemed to be working out.
Racing Sunday and the town was packed with people who would attend the Grand Prix. People from all around the world traveled to watch the Formula 1 races, celebrities, or even normal people.
There were fans that attended even the practices, so Christina wasn't surprised when she saw hundreds gathered around the gates once she arrived at the paddock this morning.
The girl got out of her car after parking it on her spot and walked towards the gates. With the help of the bodyguards, she managed to walk through the crowd.
But for the second time this weekend, Christina was called by some fans who wanted autographs. Although the weekend wasn't dedicated to her, she'd still get those little minutes of recognition and love from the fans.
She could do nothing rather than make a quick stop and give autographs to whoever wanted them. Some asked her to sign caps or notebooks and others to take pictures. She even shot videos giving wishes.
"Boo!"
A yelp of surprise escaped Christina's lips as she felt a pair of hands on her waist.
Being grabbed or touched in unusual places during her interactions with her fans was something that she wasn't accustomed to.
But when the laugh of a certain Monegasque reached her ears and her eyes met a pair of green ones, all the fear left, and relief took its place.
The two smiled at each other when the fans started screaming at their interaction. "You scared the shit out of me," Christina sighed, laughing softly, as Charles stood now beside her, taking pens and markers in his hands himself to sign caps and papers.
"Why can't you greet me inside a cafe or something like the rest of the drivers?"
"There's no fun in that," the Ferrari driver replied, shaking his head, a smile still on his lips as he passed the cap to its owner.
"Can I have a picture with both of you?" A girl, probably in her teen years, asked, pointing at the two. Both of them nodded before moving closer so they could take a photo.
Ten minutes later, Charles and Christina were pulled by the bodyguards towards the entry of the paddock. With their passes on their hands, the two walked inside.
"Still wearing that Mercedes cap, I see," Charles stated, his gaze moving from the black cap that was placed on her head lower at her face.
"Don't have a reason to wear another team's," Christina exclaimed, smirking while looking into his eyes. "Oh really?"
"Yes, Leclerc. Really"
"Hhmm," Charles' eyebrows furrowed as he tilted his head to the side, looking down at her.
"Guess I'll have to give you a reason then," he said before stopping outside the Mercedes motorhome. Charles gave her his characteristic wink before walking back towards the Ferrari Motorhome."What was that?" Carlos asked as he joined his teammate to his walk towards their base. The Spaniard was returning from his visit to Lando.
"What was what?" Charles asked, not looking at Carlos but at his path. A huge smile still on his lips.
