Christina's POV

The sound of my alarm reached my ears and made me stir in my sleep. It disturbed my calmness that I found in his arms.

I hadn't have a good sleep for months. And now that I was feeling some peace, I didn't want to be disturbed. I didn't want to leave his warmth.

But I realised that in 30 minutes I was supposed to take my pills so I had to get up.

I moved closer to Charles, snuggling on his side for a moment as I needed his heat.

I missed waking up this way. I missed feeling him beside me, feeling his touch on my body and his scent.

Just the mere presence of him made me feel better, lighter. Like I had no care in the world.

I opened my eyes and stared at him. He looked to be still asleep as his face was relaxed. He was so beautiful, so peaceful.

I hated that I would ruin that once he woke up.

"It's rude to stare" I heard him say and I noticed a grin forming on his lips, making me realise that he wasn't asleep. Not at all.

"Let me be rude then" I replied not moving my gaze from him and Charles chuckled.

He turned to his side, facing me as he still had a smile on his lips. He placed a kiss on my forehead, making my heart warmer with a simple gesture like this.

I smiled. I don't think I've smiled like that for months.

"What time is it?" he asked me. "8:30"

"Why do you have an alarm for so early.  Let us sleep in" he said as he moved closer to me, cuddling me again.

"I have to get my pills in half an hour" I explained to him and I felt his body tensing up.

It was almost like he had forgotten the events of the weekend in his sleep and I just reminded him.

"Let's get you some breakfast then" he said with a heavy sigh, giving me a lip-tight smile nonetheless, before he got himself out of the bed and then helped me to get up as well.

The silence was deafening as we had our breakfast. I could feel Charles stealing glances at me. I think he had something to say but he kept silent for a reason so I decided not to ask.

When we were done with breakfast, I took my meds and returned to the bedroom. I needed more sleep.

"We have a doctor appointment in 11am" he told me as he followed me to the room.

"Doctor appointment?"

"Yeah, a friend of mine. I want him to examine you" he told me. If he was someone else I would have lashed out on him. I was tired of running from one doctor to another. I was tired of trying to find a cure that didn't exist.

But it was Charles.

And if seeing that doctor would make him feel better then I'd do it. Even though I knew the answer I'd get.

"Okay" I mumbled. "Oh, ehm, Shadow will be here in around 1pm." I informed him and he nodded his head. "Then we'll pick him up"

I rested for a couple more hours before Charles woke me up. I got ready for the doctor appointment. I took my medical files, which I was always traveling with now, and my pills with me to show the doctor as he requested.

When we arrived at his office, he seemed to be fully informed about my situation so I didn't doubt that Charles had talked to him about my condition.

"Thank you Stephan for doing this" Charles told him as they shook hands. "Don't sweat it, mate" he replied, giving him a lip-tight smile.
