A few days later, Tuesday to be precise, Hudson invited us to go with his family on a trip to their beach house. He said we'd leave the next day and come back on the Saturday before school started up again.
So here we are on Wednesday arriving at his place. He calls it a house but it looks like a castle! The pictures he showed me before did not do it justice. He gave us a grand tour and showed us where the beautiful kitchen was, the living room, the den with a mini arcade in it, where his room was (Ray would share that with him), where the pool and Jacuzzi were, where the bathrooms were, and finally where Tara and I would stay. It all looked amazing! I asked where his parents would stay and he said that they were going to a fancy hotel. Said that they 'wanted to spent this break not watching over four teens'. Which is fine for us because no one really wanted to be watched over.
We didn't know what we wanted to do on the first day here besides unpack. That didn't take too long either so we ended up sitting in the living room and Darla and Carl (Hudson's parents) went off to walk around the beach. After having Ray, Hudson, and Tara debate over going to the beach for a swim or the pool they decided that the beach would be good for today.
I politely declined going out for a swim and instead I sat on a chair in the sand. I had on jean shorts that covered the cuts on my thighs, a tank top, and a light cove up to hide the cuts on my arms. The chair sunk into the sand a bit and leaned back. I was close to the water so that when the waves came in I would feel it against my bare feet.
Ray, Hudson, and Tara got on their pool floats and went way out to were the waves were. Tara got one massive wave and let it carry her back to the shore.
"That was amazing! Come on Alex, please swim with me?" She begged.
"Sorry Tara I don't really feel like swimming today."
"Alright so tomorrow?" I bit my lip."Oh please! Please, please, please!"
"I'll think about it." Lie. What I'll really think about it how to get out of having to swim.
"Yay! I'm going to go back. There are some nice waves right now."
I rested in the chair for a while longer before I felt tapping on my shoulder. I didn't bother opening my eyes. "Hmm?"
"I can help you out if you really want to swim."
I opened my eyes and looked at Hudson. "How?"
"You know those swimming outfits that cover your whole body usually for like snorkeling?" I nodded. "Well I could get you a top part of that. As for bottoms I could find you some swim shorts."
"Really?! Thank you Hudson! If I swim then Tara wont bug me about it."
"Plus I think it's safe to assume you haven't gone swimming in a while."
I thought about it for a bit. "Not since I was 11."
"You sure you can?" He asked. I nodded. "Alright then I'll go out tomorrow morning and get that for you. I'll have a few more waves with them and we'll all head back. Have a nice party the first night."
"Party?" I asked but he was already running off to the others.
As he said, a few waves later they came back to shore and got there towels. I dried my feet and put on my flip flops. We went back to the beach house and saw lights around the deck.
"What's this?" Ray asked.
"A party for the first night here." Darla said and skipped down the steps.
"Hudson's idea. We just set it up for when you guys got back." Carl said from his seat on the deck.
"Aw how nice." Ray said and kissed Hudson on the cheek. There were steak and chips & dip. We sat around the glass table on the deck and got out plates filled.
"I think I can trust you guys with a little alcohol consumption since I couldn't get any without." Darla said and gave us each a glass bottle of strawberry daiquiri.
The meal was absolutely delicious and after we ate we talked with Darla and Carl for a while. They really were some very nice people. Not that I thought they wouldn't be, they've already paid for us to go to an amusement park and had us come along here. After a while though they left to go to their hotel room.
"They could trust us with the daiquiri, but not with knowing where all the alcohol is." Hudson said.
"You are just becoming more bad ass." Tara said.
We followed him to a locked door and he got a key out of his pocket. The room was a wine cellar. He went for getting the less expensive ones and the ones they wouldn't know were gone.
"We won't drink too much, but still more than what was in those daiquiri's." Hudson said.
We followed him to the kitchen and he started grabbing out random fruits and things from everywhere. "Good thing they stocked this place up while we were gone. We'll tell them we made smoothies, just not with their wine."
He made three different smoothies w/ wine in them- Triple berry (Blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries), Grapefruit, and Pomegranate-Cherry. You couldn't taste the wine too much but you could still definitely tell it was there.
After a having each smoothie twice, we were all feeling crazy.
