I was about to leave Ray's room and go back to the living room when he said something that caught me off guard.

"I know you like her." He said.

"W-what?" I asked.

"Tara. I know you like her. I see the way you have been looking at her. Just so you know, I think she likes you too."

"She doesn't." I said.

"So you do like her! I knew it! But I think you're wrong. She looks at you almost the way you look at her."

"I know for a fact that she doesn't like me. She likes someone else." I let go off the doorknob and let my hand fall.

"Likes someone else? Who?" Ray asked.

"I-I can't tell you. It's a secret she told me." I said.

Ray walked past me and out the door.

"Ray!" I called after him.

"Who do you like?" He asked a dumbfounded Tara.

"What?" She asked.

"Who. Do. You. Like." He said.

"No one." She lied.

"Nuh-uh. Alex said you like someone but she won't say who."

"Alex!" Tara yelled.

"Sorry it just came out!" I said back in defense. "At least I didn't say who!"

"Yeah so tell me Tara. Who is it?" Ray asked.

Tara sighed. "Brianna."

"Brianna? Why would you like Brianna?" Ray asked then put a hand over his mouth.

"Why do you say her name like that? I thought you liked her too, you know, as a friend." Tara said.

"Well yeah..." He lied. "But..."

"But what?" Tara asked.

Ray looked over at me and I looked down.

"Alex... what is it?" Tara asked.

"I-it's nothing." I lied.

"Nothing my ass!" Tara said. "You tell me now!"

"Tara-" She cut Ray off by putting her hand in front of his face.

"What is it Alex?"
