Stoick was on stage. Every Berkerian was there. They wanted to see Hiccup, the one they used to say were useless to kill his first dragon!
"Well, I can show my face in public again! If someone had told me that in just few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well... Hiccup, to placing first in Dragon Training... Well, I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it! But here we are. And no one's more surprised...or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. TODAY, HE BECOMES ONE OF US!"
Everyone cheered. Everyone was excited. Hiccup should be the most but that really wasn't what he was feeling.
"Be careful with that dragon." Astrid told him.
Hiccup takes a glance at his father who was still making the speech.
"It's not the dragon I'm worried about."
Astrid looks at him.
"What are you going to do?"
"Put an end to this."
Hiccup looked at Astrid, looking extremely serious.
"I have to try. Astrid, if something goes wrong... just make sure they don't find Toothless."
"I will. Just... promise me it won't go wrong."
Hiccup smiled at Astrid.
"No promises."
Little did they know, Stoick had finished his speech.
Gobber walks up to the too.
"It's time, Hiccup. Knock him dead."
Hiccup gives a nod.
He enters the Arena. He could here mummering everywhere.
He walks up to the weapon stand and picks up a dagger.
Stoick along with the other Berkians were all watching from above.
"Hrmph. I would've gone for the hammer." Stoick said.
Hiccup took one deep breath.
"I'm ready."
The crowd went quiet.
Soon, the monsterous nightmare was released.
It came out of its cage and starts approaching Hiccup.
Everyone thought Hiccup would immediately use his tatics to kill the dragon but what they saw next shock them.
Hiccup dropped the dagger on the floor purposely.
The dragon and Hiccup start approaching each other.
Hiccup puts his hand out, just like he did for Toothless.
"What is he doing?" Stoick said.
"It's okay. It's okay."
Hiccup takes a glance at everyone. He takes off his helmet.
"I'm not one of them."
Hiccup says as he threw the helmet on the floor.
Everyone gasped in shock.
The supposedly heir to Berk threw his viking helmet on the ground!
"Stop the fight." Stoick said.
"No! I need you all to see this. They're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them."
The monsterous nightmare was starting to get closer to Hiccup's hand. He was still afraid.
Just then, Stoick gets up from his seat and takes a hammer and slams it on the rails of the Arena.
"I SAID STOP THE FIGHT!"
The monsterous nightmare's eyes widened. He was scared and took Hiccup as its predator.
It started to go after Hiccup.
Hiccup on the other hand was now in the arena running for his life.
Stoick started to get through the crowd. He had to save his son.
"Out of the way!"
Astrid saw everything.
"Hiccup!"
She notices an axe and uses it as a way to enter the arena.
Soon, Astrid entered the Arena.
She wanted to help him.
Just that second, she noticed a hammer on the ground and threw it at the dragon.
Upon getting hit by Astrid, the dragon immediately changed targets and gave chase to Astrid.
Astrid was frightened. She starting running for her life.
<Meanwhile>
Toothless was sleeping at the cove peacefully. Everything was perfect. The beautiful trees and surroundings what a perfect time to sleep.
"AHHHHH!"
Toothless immediately awoke.
It was a sound he was familiar to, it was Hiccup's.
Toothless immediately starts to head to the sound.
Stoick soon gets to one of the openings. He pulls up the cage door like it was a piece of paper.
"This way!"
Astrid and Hiccup immediately starts to head to Stoick.
Thankfully, Astrid was able to escape the Arena.
Hiccup was about to escape but the monsterous nightmare blasted out lava.
Hiccup immediately starting running for his life in the other direction.
Hiccup was starting to get tired and was starting to lose his stamina.
The monsterous nightmare took this opportunity and pinned Hiccup to the ground!
Hiccup was looking at the dragon. This was it. This was how he dies.
When he thought all was lost, someone arrived.
Suddenly, a resonating blast fires at the Arena's railing.
"Night Fury! Take cover!" Gobber shouts.
Toothless jumps into the Arena. The smoke clears up, revealing the two dragons fighting.
All the berkians look down.
It really was a night fury and fighting for Hiccup?
Soon, Toothless emerges victorious but that happiness does not last long.
"Alright, Toothless, go. Get out of here!" Hiccup whispers to Toothless.
But Toothless did not budge. He wanted to protect Hiccup.
Hiccup knew what he had to do, fly away from Berk.
Hiccup gets on Toothless.
Hiccup takes a quick glance at Astrid who was running to him.
"Hiccup don't!"
"I'm sorry Astrid.."
Hiccup looks at Toothless.
"Time to go bud!"
Before any Viking could even touch the night fury, Toothless already flew away.
Astrid watched at Hiccup left. She knew he did the right thing.
