It had been thirty minutes, Max knew, and he still hadn't found her.

He wandered back into the maze for the fifth time, knowing he already lost, but was now just hoping to find her.

But all the sudden, her thoughts entered his mind.

They were incoherent, blurred, crazy. Random voices echoing through her mind, followed by sounds of shows and her favorite characters.

She was falling asleep, he could tell.

But he followed the voices in her head, listening as they grew louder and louder, until they were the loudest they could be.

He gazed around the area, finding a corner in the maze that was separated by a tiny green shelf that broke off at both ends.

She was around here somewhere.

He searched each corner, hoping to find her, but saw no sign.

But when his eyes locked on her shoe that poked a little out from the wall, he stepped over to it.

Max knelt down, peering under the wall of the maze to find Ember there, curled into herself under the bush, half-asleep.

He smiled then. "You're a good hider, I got to admit."

She never responded, just lazily blinked.

He chuckled then, getting onto his knees and grasping her legs and back, gently pulling her out from the wall as she remained still and tired.

He then lifted her, and she immediately rested her head on his shoulder, relaxing.

"Long day, huh?" he uttered. "We did a lot, so you must be tired."

She nodded sleepily.

He just held her closer. "Don't worry. I got you."

And he started out of the maze.
