Jerez testing day 2

Instead of waking up at 7, I was up at 5.

This is stupid. I'm going to be tired for the whole day, but if I go back to sleep Nico will have to wake me up.

I contemplated going back to sleep, but decided against it as I made a cup of coffee to help wake myself up.

I sat on the sofa in my tank top and shorts and looked at my phone for a bit. Nico had text me really late last night about what I was doing today.

I was starting to notice how many emails I was getting. Just from yesterday I had 40. I knew all to well that today I would have to answer them all. The majority were from fans wanting this, that and the other.

Since I had nothing better to do I set to the laborious task of washing and drying my hair. Although it was long, it was also thick. Easy enough to wash but a pain to dry.

I was finishing up straightening it as Nico knocked in the door. It was 7:46.

He's early. What could he want.

"Coming!" I yelled at the door. Half of my hair was straight whilst the other half was wavy.

"You look like you been dragged through a hedge backwards" he said to me.

"Good morning to you to Nico" I said smiling. He gave me that cheeky smile. I felt butterflies in my stomach.

No Sophie. Remember he's more than likely got a girlfriend.

"Do you know what your doing today?"

"Garage, car, blog, blog, blog, interview, interview, interview, email and sleep?"

"Pretty much. I don't know how your so enthusiastic about this. I'd hate it"

"It's my passion"

"What? Answering emails?"

"Yep. Totally. To be in F1 is what I mean"

"Yeah you've got a point"

The question on my mind was fighting to pass through my lips. But I couldn't get the words out.

"Give me a moment and I'll be ready" came out instead.

He nodded and took a seat on the sofa.

"This is a bit small"

"Why? Is your motorhome huge?"

"Enough for 3 people but only I have it"

"Cool"

I finished with my hair and applied a few coats of mascara.

I walked out of the motorhome with Nico. I had my laptop and a few notebooks in my hands.

"What are you doing while I'm in the car?"

"I finished my coursework yesterday so I'm going to start writing the Force India blog with Elisha"

"Cool. Today's one of the more boring days in the car"

"Can you get a boring day in the car?"

"Yep. Only doing set up and stuff like that so I can't push it"

"Oh right"

As we entered the garage, Vijay was looking flustered.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nicos car needs some fixing up. I don't think there's any chance of us getting him out today"

Honestly, I wanted to hug him. He genuinely looked heart broken.

"Sophie! Over here!" Elisha called.

"Time for me to write the blog. Sit with us if you want"

"Sure"

There wasn't a lot of talking. Just me and Elisha writing up our notes onto the blog.

"Nico! Interview time!" Vijay called.

Great. I haven't even finished the blog. I can't expect Elisha to do it all. This is way more stressful than I thought it would be.

I got up and escorted a silent Nico to the media area. He didn't seem to want to be there at all.

"What's wrong with the car?" The sky personnel asked.

"It's some sort of power supply issue"

"Is this a problem for the team?"

"For sure, it's a set back but nothing the mechanics can't handle"

"Will you be back on track tomorrow?"

"Hopefully. Obviously I can't say for sure but I hope we will be"

"Ok thank you for your time"

It was awkward as we walked back. Neither of us knew what to say, so we didn't. I got a message saying that Elisha had finished the blog. All I had to do was answer my emails. I finally plucked up the courage to say something.

"What are you doing tonight?"

"Probably moping but relaxing. You?"

"Writing emails but I want to relax"

"Cool"

We said bye as we reached the motor homes. I could feel his eyes on me once again as I walked down to my motorhome. He was checking every detail of me. As I turned around to wave, a smile produced itself on his lips. I smiled and waved back.

After 2 hours of answering emails is was 7:50 so I decided to have a shower and put on a face mask. I finished up in the shower and applied the mask. It smelt so good, just like fresh berries. I tied up my hair to apply it. Once applied I went to the sofa bed and relaxed.

After a few moments my laptop beeped. Guess what? 30 more emails to answer! It was like my worst nightmare but it brought back amazing memories of BTCC. I missed those days.

Every email was asking the exact same thing. Can I meet Nico? Obviously the answer was no as he is busy but I had to write some sort of heartfelt apology to them.

By time I'd finished them my face mask had dried. It had actually taken me 3 hours. 10:30. Time for sleep. I washed off the mask and gave myself a quick moisturise.

As I lay in bed all I could see was that smile Nico gave me today.

Am I falling for him? It's way to early Sophie! Why don't you talk to Elisha? She might know what to do. If not then wait to see if he actually has a girlfriend. Don't ask him.

I think I may have been falling for him. I hate the feeling of liking someone. I'm here for the job not the boyfriend. I decided to wipe my mind clean of it until the morning.
