Back for good

I opened my eyes to blinding light streaming through the curtains. I couldn't tell whether the room was spinning, or I was just dizzy. Screams echoed through the house as I tried to sit up.

After a few moments, the dizzy feeling subsided as I was left with the worst headache I had ever experienced. It was so bad that I put my hand up to my forehead, scared that I had hit it on something.

By my feet were three empty bottles of vodka. Three. All empty. Not so much as a drop left in them.

"Nico," I called out. It was quiet and raspy as my throat burned.

"Nico" I yelled, mustering all the strength I had to yell his name through the house.

I got up and stumbled towards the front door. His shoes were gone. His car too. Then it dawned on me what had happened the day before. He had left without giving me an inkling of where he was headed for.

The screams carried on as I made my way up the stairs. Eva was thrashing around in her cot, desperate for food. I took her out and sat her on the floor with me. I gave her a feed as I tried to remember what had happened.

After I'd put Eva back it dawned on me where Nico was. Well, more like where he wasn't and why he wasn't there. He'd left the day before. Left. Not coming back. He hadn't been helping with Eva...so I'd snapped...and he'd gotten angry...then left.

I darted into my room to check my phone. I desperately wanted to know if he had text me to say if he was alright or where he was or even ask about Eva. Instead I was greeted with reems of notifications from twitter. I swiftly launched the app so I could have a look.

The tweets all held a link to a well known German newspaper. I clicked on it, wondering  what fans would be sending me that for. As I quickly read the headline it dawned on me why he had gone. I skimmed through the text. Once I had finished, I dropped my phone on the cold, hard floor where the screen smashed. I didn't even bother to pick it up.

Nico Hulkenberg spotted with ex in Ibiza

Hulkenberg is in the limelight once again this week, only this time it's not because he won the 2015 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This week the 27 year old German was spotted in Ibiza getting a little frisky with his ex girlfriend, Laura Zinnel pictured above, on a boat in a harbour. On the boat is just him and his ex. The sunset has created a silhouette on the photo although, you can distinctly make out the faces of Hulkenberg and Zinnel.  They are, in the photo above, kissing and with one hand Nico is pulling off Laura's bikini top and with the other is giving her a little feel down below. It is still unknown about his apparent girlfriend, Sophie Barker, mother of his child, Eva Hulkenberg. They have given her Nicos last name, indicating that there was some sort of marriage arrangement there. After seeing these photos, we have no idea who Nico is with or what is actually going on, but what we do know is that Nico has gotten himself into a James Hunt style predicament.

The next few days were a laborious routine of waking up (alone), feeding Eva (alone), eating (alone), cleaning (alone) and sleeping (alone). By this time it was rare that I would ever eat properly. I just couldn't face food. I was starting to lose weight and it was rather obvious that I hadn't been eating. I had also stopped wearing makeup and my  face was growing tired by each day.

That day I decided that because Eva was asleep in the carry chair beneath the sofa, I would have a little snooze.

After around two hours someone walked through the door, waking me up instantly. They were virtually silent as the walked into the kitchen, then the living room where I was. They stood infront of me for a moment before sitting on the sofa directly in front of me.

I heard Eva start to wail and contemplated 'waking up' to tend to her. To my surprise, the person walked over, picked her up and stood bouncing her in their arms.

"Shhh, it's okay Eva, I've got you"

I recognised the voice, but what they said next clarifyed what I had been thinking.

"Daddy's got you"

Nico. He'd returned.

Eva stopped crying and he put her back. He bent down in front of me and moved my hair out of my face.

He lifted up my torso and layed me back down on his legs before cradelling me the way he had done with Eva, only holding me higher up, resting my back against the arm of the sofa. He kissed my forehead and rested his cheek on my head.

After a few moments a tear slid down his cheek.

"I've missed you so much. So so much. I'm so sorry for everything that I've ever done to you. Look at you, you're so pale, so thin. I can't believe I got you pregnant, told you to keep the child, let you have it, tell you that you should have aborted it and then left you for a week to look after it by yourself. I'm horrible" He cried into my hair.

I couldn't stand to hear him like this. I'd never heard him sob like this. Only ever a few little tears for more 'minor' incidents. I sighed in his arms and wrapped mine around his neck, pulling myself up so that I was nearly the same height as him whilst sat down. I fully hugged him and whispered in his ear.

"You've nothing to be sorry for. Let's put it behind us and move on"

I let go and picked Eva up.

"She's missed you" I said.

"How could I ever do that to you?"

"It's in the past Nico. Let's move on"

"Move on as a couple?"

"Yes Nico. As a couple"
