The driver, The Girlfriend and Me

First day in FI HQ

That morning I woke up to Elishas mobile ringing.

"Shit. Sorry Soph I thought it was on silent"

"No worries. What time is it?"

"Seven"

"We best get going then. Or at least get ready as quick as we can"

She nodded as we jumped out of bed. Breakfast wasn't an option so we said we'd get something either on the way or at FI HQ. I had a quick shower and grabbed my clothes. I was ready to go within half an hour.

"Elisha! Hurry it up! I'm ready to go"

She ran out the door with her makeup bag as I locked up.

"Are you really going to attempt this in the car?"

"I can try"

"Go natural. That's what I did all week"

"Oh fine" she said, belting herself in.

I had the slightest idea of where I was going. We had the address but I'd never been to Northampton before so today was going to be a long day.

We didn't speak a lot as I had to concentrate and Elisha decided that she would update the team emails. All I could hear was the sat nav. I did start to drift off into my own thoughts.

What would it be like to drive Nico around? I guess I'll get to know. What would he be like as a husband? How would he love me? How would he act. Oh come on Sophie. Listen to yourself. You sound awful. You work with him. You don't go out with him.

I drowned out my bad thoughts by chatting to Elisha, I had to find someway of ignoring myself.

"What are we actually doing there?" I asked.

"I think that we're having a look around today but for the next two days we are doing sooooooooo much work"

"Oh great. It's lucky we love our jobs!"

"Don't I know it! I can't imagine doing anything else!"

"Me to! This has always been my dream job! When you were young, who was your dream person to be a PR for?"

"It changed a lot! When I was getting into Motorsport it was Schumacher! But then it changed to Fisi! Then Button and finally I settled on Perez last season!"

"I always wanted Schumacher! I wanted Hamilton as well. Then Chilton! Then when I was offered the job with Nico I couldn't turn it down!"

"If you could have anyone in F1 who would it be?"

"You go first!"

"Ok then...Rosberg! He looks like Leonardo DiCaprio!"

"Oh god...er...I would probably stick with Nico!"

"Oooo! Like him do you?"

"As a friend yeah"
"It's more than that" she muttered under her breath as I pulled up. Vijay came walking out with two men.

"Girls! Right on time!"

"Great to see you Vijay" we said.

"These men here are the head engineers for Nico and Checo"

I must have looked confused as to who Checo was.

"Sergio...Checo is what we all call him"

I blushed and nodded. Awkward.

"So Elisha you already know Ben!"

She walked off with him.

"Sophie, Alex, Alex, Sophie"
