I watched The paddock explode into life. Even though Thursday was media day, I didn't have to leave the safety of my motorhome. There was a lot to be done regarding the website, so Nico was doing a photoshoot and interview. I was hoping that he didn't come in here to get a load of paperwork and photos to sign. I knew I'd have to face him sometime soon, I mean, I work with him. I can't get away from him.

"And you're sure you'll be okay by yourself?"

"I'll be fine Jolyon, I promise"

"Okay, I'll see you later then! I've got a lot of media stuff to do today"

"Bye Babe" I said, kissing his cheek as he turned his head, making me kiss him on the lips.

I got changed into my work gear just in case I had to go to the garage or track or any media place. I went to the mirror to cover up my face with makeup. My cheek was still red with a bruise etched into the skin. It was painful to touch, so I left it alone.

When I looked in the mirror, I didn't think I was looking back at myself. I looked tired, beat up and torn apart. The bump was still there. My child.

I went back to the bedroom and began updating the website with news, statistics and everything Lex had told me to do.

I got a knock on my door a few hours later. It was dinner time and I was starting to get hungry. I'd been non stop working for two hours. I wanted my lunch ASAP. I opened it to fine Elisha.

"Want to come and get some dinner?"

"Oh my god yes! I'm starving!"

"Wait..what happened to your face?"

"I'll tell you at the restaurant, I need food!"

"Fair enough, come on then!"

I grabbed my bag and walked with her to the on track restaurant.

"And then he punched me in the chest, making me fall to the ground. Then set about Jolyon"

"Really?!"

"Yeah"

"He's earning the nickname Hulk!"

"I know!"

All of a sudden Nico, Laura and Sergio all walked into the restaurant. They looked at me before taking seats near the exit. I put my hand on my small bump, then realised that Laura had a miscarriage and removed them immediately. Elisha and I got up and walked out of the restaurant with their eyes following us. Even Sergio had turned against me. I didn't know who was doing this, Nico, Laura or myself. Was I driving people away?

After dinner was cut short I went back to the motorhome to finish work on the website. Again there was a knock on my door. I subconciously opened it to find Nico. I wanted to shut it in his face, but instead I decided to hear him out.

"What?" I said.

"Can I come in? I need to talk to you"

"This is where 'talking' last time got us to" I held up my cast for him to see. He looked shocked.

"So..."

"Come in" I said reluctantly.

He walked in and sat on the sofa.

"Last night..."

"Yes?"

"I can't tell you how sorry I am"

"Really?"

"Can i..."

"Can you?"

"Can I see the bruises"

I nodded and brushed my hair away from my bruised cheek. Then unbuttoned my top so he could see the one at the top of my breast. Then lifted my top up for the bruises on my back.

"Oh my"

I sat down in silence.

"Did I do that?"

"Yes Nico, yes you did"

"And..."

"And what?"

"The..."

"The what? Nico just spit it out!"

"The baby"

"What about it?"

"Is it okay?"

"It's fine"

"Oh thank God! I've been worrying about it all day!"

"And not me?"

"Oh Sophie! Of course I've been worrying about you"

I stayed silent.

"I...I'm a monster" He said, his voice breaking a little.

He went silent and looked at the floor, his hand over his face so I couldn't see it. I gently held his hand and removed it. He was crying. Tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Nico?"

It was the first time I had seen him like this.

"How could I treat you like this?"

"It doesn't matter"

"Of course it matters"

I put my hand to his cheek. He held it gently.

"I'm so sorry" He said, whispering it as he cried.

He kissed my cheek where the bruise was then stood me up and kissed my lower back, top of my breast and stomach where the baby was. He sat me back down again and put his hand to the back of my head. He brought us closer together before kissing me. And do you know what? I kissed him back.
