Silence.

"Now look in the mirror."

You obey the handsome man on the screen and lock eyes with your reflection.

"Today is day one on your journey of discovering who you are. It can be difficult to say some of these affirming truths to yourself at first. Just know that all of these words are true. Tell yourself. Say to your reflection: 'These words are true. You will become the complete person you want to be.'"

You swallow. Your reflection's gaze is eager and unwavering. Even your reflection wants to be happy. You pause the video in order to talk to yourself as Kim Namjoon instructed.

"Th-these words are true," you say. "You will become the complete person you want to be."

That wasn't too bad, you think to yourself. You press play on the video again, just in time to see a welcoming smile and kind dimple grace the man's beautiful face.

"Congratulations! You have officially completed the first step towards loving yourself. Don't forget to fill out the daily journal and check in with your accountability manager. These are the necessary steps in the completion of your journey to make this experience perfect for you. Every person has a different story. Please complete the following survey so you can be matched to a guide specific to your needs. I'll see you again tomorrow!"

The screen continues to the survey and you complete it obediently. You move on after the survey to log your emotions so far throughout the day, complete the short questionnaire, and set a goal for the week. You've barely had a chance to run your fingers through your hair after you finish before Jung-mo is calling you.

"Yes sir," you say.

"I see you finished all your homework for today," he teases.

"This is genuinely so much work. Am I supposed to do all this every day?"

"Yes. And I won't let you slack. They won't let me slack, either. They sent me a notification for everything you completed."

"I feel like a teenager," you say. "Are you tracking me? Helicopter parent."

"That's me. Helicoptering all over you." He's silent on the other end. "Let me never say that again."

"Please. Never again."

"Anyway, prepare to be extremely annoyed with me—"

"As though I'm not already?" You interrupt.

"—because I will not let this go."

"Got it," you say with a sigh. "Prepare to be even more annoyed than usual."

"Perfect. Have you seen the guy yet?" Jung-mo asks.

You sigh again. "Jung-mo..."

"Isn't he just so hot? Every time he tells you to love yourself, doesn't it just turn you on? I know it does."

You lift a brow at the aggression in his tone. "Got some unresolved issues with successful Mr. Kim?"

"I can't even blame her for leaving me. I would leave me too! That man is a tall glass of water. I just can't believe I have to watch my ex parade around on TV with a much hotter man and an expensive ring on her finger."

"Lee Jung-mo?"

"I have closure, Y/n, don't get me wrong. I don't miss her! I'm just pissed I didn't leave for him first!"

"Okay, I'm hanging up now."

"Look at you! Leaving me too," he yells.

"I'll call you later, you big baby!"

"You'd better!" He hangs up first and you're left alone again in front of the mirror. You take a deep breath and start to get ready for the day. The first day of the journey.
