Well that was weird, I think to myself.

I stare down at the hot soup on my stove, wondering what to do with it now that it's ready to eat with no one here to eat it. Why'd she leave so fast? Why was she so quiet? Usually she talks for me and all I have to do is respond or show that I'm listening. What happened last night to change he so much?

My phone rings again and my heart leaps with  excitement as I turn it over to look at the screen and—

It's just Jung-mo.

"Hey," I say with fake excitement.

"Hey! What you doin' tonight? Me, Ho-jun, and some of the guys are thinking of going drinking."

My brow furrows as I look over to the date on my calendar. "On a Saturday?"

"Yeah. We men can go drinking whenever we want, Jimin."

"But usually group drinking is done on Friday nights. Why didn't you guys go last night?"

"Stop being a little bitch about it, Park Jimin, and let's get drunk. Ho-jun and I wanted to go with you but you were on that date last night. Speaking of which, we haven't talked about that yet." I can practically hear his eyebrows lifting suggestively as he talks about the date that didn't happen.

I roll my eyes and sigh. Why am I friends with these idiots again?

"I thought you were against blind dates," I say, placing my hand on my hip even though he can't see me do it.

"I'm not against blind dates, I was against you going on one."

"That doesn't make sense."

"It makes perfect sense, Chim."

Right.

"Anyway, there was not blind date last night, she had to cancel on me. But something did  happen."

"Ohhhhh! My boy got laid!" he nearly shouts into the phone.

"What? N-no I didn't—!"

"Ho-jun! Jimin got laid last night!"

Ho-jun's shouts can be heard through the phone. My heart drops in panic.

"No! No! No! I didn't get laid!"

I already no it's no use to protest. I can hear both of them whooping and chanting my name. I cover my hot face even though there's no one to see my humiliation.

"Way to go, Jimin! That's how you get over a woman!" Ho-jun screams into the receiver.

"WOULD YOU GUYS STOP FOR FIVE SECONDS!" I run my hand through my hair in embarrassment as I listen to their hysterical laughter on the other end. "I didn't get laid, okay? I just said there wasn't even a date! I just met someone! That's all I'm saying for now."

"Well, you need to quit keeping secrets from us, 'cause I wanna meet this girl," Jung-mo tells me. "I wanna know who's helping our Jiminie out of his sadness for the time being."

Right, I think. Ada's supposed to be a distraction.

"Right, I'll keep that in mind. Anyway, I'm gonna go. I have a date in a few hours and—"

"JIMIN'S GONNA GET LAAAAAAAAID!"

"I'M NOT GETTING LAID!"

.

I stand outside of the apartment door, her apartment door. I don't know why I'm here; she made it very clear for me to leave her alone today. I guess I felt bad about rejecting her house key, I don't know. It felt weird for me to take her house key the day after I get a girlfriend. It didn't sit right with me to be dating Ada and taking another girl's house key.
