Twenty Five || I Love You

I slam the door to my apartment and release and aggravated huff. My jacket is thrown onto the hooks and I don't even take my shoes off before I angrily walk into the kitchen.

"So irritating," I grumble. "Making stupid shit up. I don't need that."

"Jimin? Is that you?"

I freeze at the sound of a delicate voice in my apartment. I spin around in the kitchen, staring at the coffee pot like it's the one that called out to me.

"Hello?" I call out.

Ada's head peeks around the corner, a confused smile on her face. My previous anger is forgotten in the instant we lock eyes and a wide smile spreads across my face.

"What are you doing here?" I ask gently, sweetly. "Did you use my key?"

She breaks into a smile of her own and crosses the tiled floor to meet me. I wrap my arms around her and hug her tightly, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

"I thought you were going to sleep at home," I said.

"I wanted to surprise you. You sounded like you had a long day and I was hoping to cheer you up a bit."

I sigh and squeeze her. "Thank you. It has been a long day."

"Did you eat anything at the convenience store?" she asks. I shake my head no. "Let's order food, then. We can watch a movie and eat, just hang out together."

"I love that idea. As long as you'll stay with me tonight," I tease.

"I thought that went without saying these days," she giggles with a smile.

I duck my head down to kiss her. Her body leans against mine and I cup her cheek in my palm, loving the way her breath and body mold with my own.

"You order the food. I'm gonna go put my stuff down and I have one thing I was gonna finish up for work," I say when we pull apart. "I shouldn't be long."

Ada nods her head, standing up on her toes to peck my lips again. "Do you want anything specific?"

I shake my head. "I trust you to pick some good stuff. I'll be out in a few."

"Don't keep me waiting too long," she says playfully. "You know how quick they can be. Wouldn't want anything to get cold." She dials the number and places her phone against her ear, shooing me away with her hand and a smile.

"Was I long?" I ask, noticing the splay of food on the coffee table.

Ada look up at me, taking in my slightly unbuttoned shirt. She nibbles on her lip slightly and I swallow at that, noting every movement she makes.

"Not long," she replies nonchalantly. She sweeps her long hair over her shoulder and pats the cushion next to her before curling up on the couch. "Come on, I'm hungry."

"I'm coming, I'm coming," I laugh.

As soon as I sit, she plays the movie and I pull her into my arms. She was smart and ordered a bunch of snack foods so we could still hold each other while we ate. I'm grateful because after my evening, I'm not too keen on letting her out of my arms now that she's here.

"You okay?" she says softly as we lay together on the cushions. The food is long gone and the movie's nearly over. She lifts her head from from where she rested on my chest and looks a my face. "You seemed upset when you got home."
