"Bottom's up!"
I nearly choke on the shot I'm taking as I laugh at Jung-mo's English phrase. I swallow the alcohol in a single go and set down my drink for Ho-jun to refill it.
"Ah, this is nice, guys," Ho-jun says as he downs another shot.
Jung-mo nods in agreement. "It's been almost a month since we went out drinking together. I've missed this."
"Yeah, Jimin's been too busy with his new girlfriend," Ho-jun teases. He elbows me in the ribs and I feel myself blush as he mentions Ada.
"Who is this girl, anyway?" Jung-mo asks me.
I take back another shot before I answer. "Well...her name is Kang Ada."
"Pretty name," Ho-jun says. Jung-mo nods in agreement.
"She's and interior designer, has her own business."
"Impressive." Jung-mo nods again.
I laugh and cover my face. "Why are you guys being so weird? I'm so embarrassed now!"
"Sorry, Jimin, sorry." Jung-mo laughs at my blushing cheeks. "Hard questions now. What's her favorite food?"
I smile unconsciously. "She really likes spicy noodles. Or any kind of noodle. She loves noodles. Oh! And she really likes spicy chicken, too."
"What about her favorite color?" Ho-jun quizzes.
"Yellow."
"Her favorite number?"
"Twenty-five."
"Birthday?"
"Really?" I ask. "March twenty-third."
Jung-mo laughs. "Wait, wait. You know her favorite number?"
I shrug, my cheeks feeling red again. "We talk a lot. She likes to talk on the phone more than text, you know? So we'll send little messages a few times through the day but anytime apart from work it's phone calls."
"That's so sweet," Ho-jun gushes. "I wish Eun-jae would talk to me more. After a long while, it just becomes so natural to be around each other. I kind of miss when we didn't live together because we talked more."
Jung-mo's brows furrow. "How have you guys been together so long without talking?"
"No, it's not like we don't talk," he defends. "We just don't spend all our time talking anymore like we did before she moved in. We spend our free time doing other stuff." Ho-jun winks at me and elbows Jung-mo in the ribs as they both laugh.
I roll my eyes and take another shot. Children.
"So, what's Ada look like, Jimin?" Jung-mo says. He slaps Ho-jun on the arm so the man will stop giggling. It seems that Ho-jun's three shots are starting to kick in.
I think for a moment, trying to find a way to describe Ada's beauty. "She has long black hair. It's really thick and straight. And it's really, really soft. Like seriously, I might ask what kind of shampoo she uses, my corn-husk hair needs it. And she's got these beautiful, big, brown eyes. They're just gorgeous...clear and sparkly...she's just beautiful." I place my hand over my fluttering heart, wondering if it's Ada or the alcohol that makes my pulse speed up so.
"What's she like?" Jung-mo asks.
"Didn't you just want a fling?" Ho-jun asks.
My nose scrunches at his question. "I mean, yeah, I wanted a fling. I don't really know what I want now, though. We're a month into the relationship and it's just so easy. We're so comfortable with each other. And even on her worst days, she'll say something just to make me smile. She makes it so easy to be with her and so hard to go home. She's easygoing, she likes to pay for dates, she's not clingy but she lets me hold onto her...she's really everything I've ever wanted to have in a relationship."
