When Bailey rang the doorbell, he turned to see the car he had arrived in park down the street. Which was strange because he had assumed Mr. Simmons would simply return home. Carol Perkins starts to open the door while holding a can in her other hand. " Well, look who it is, Bailey Cameron. I thought you didn't really enjoy parties." She questioned while resting against the door frame.

Bailey played around with the underside of his sweatshirt sleeve. " Well, I normally don't, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to attend this party." He remarked apprehensively as she looked up at her and she gave him a small smirk.

"Well, aren't you a cutie, come on in where all around the back." She gave him a sweet grin that made him think of the ladies who would gaze at him at his parents' special occasions. He carefully followed her inside as he closed the door behind him. As he followed her, he had a look around the big mansion.

Although it was large, it wasn't truly as large as his home. He followed Carol outside where Tommy, Steve, and two other girls were there. He recognized the brunette from earlier that morning's conversation with Jonathan. They all turned to face him as she announced his presence, "Look who showed up guys." He waved shyly in response.

Tommy rushed over to him and handed him a cigarette. He questioned, "Want some?" He put it close to Bailey's face, which reminded him of the club's odor in his parent's basement. The repulsive smell caused him to move back and away from him right immediately.

"No thank you, I don't smoke." When he responded, the other lad laughed a little and moved back to where he had been sitting by the pool. Bailey turned a little and sat down next to the girl, whose name he didn't know. Steve Harrington just stared at him suspiciously.

"They're not as scary as they seem, you know. They are really a group of losers with wealthy parents that cling to one person before moving on to the next." The girl said, Bailey gave her a startled glance. He found it strange that someone would disparage their alleged pals in such a way.

"They are not my friends; my only friend is Nancy. By the way, my name is Barb." She stated.

"I'm Bailey."

The two smiled before turning to face Nancy as she began to guzzle something. Bailey observed that she appeared to be attempting to impress the group with the way she was performing. But why would she feel the need to impress them when she already had a friend who, in Bailey's opinion, appeared to be real enough?.

"Barb, you wanna try?" Barb seemed visibly uncomfortable when Nancy questioned her.

"What? No .No, I don't want to. Thanks." Bailey regarded the two as Barb stated her displeasure. Not understanding why Nancy was still pointing the can at her after Barb made it clear she didn't want it.

They persisted in attempting to coerce her into drinking. "Hey, quit it, don't try to force her into doing something she doesn't want to. What kind of friends are those?" Standing in front of Barb, Bailey questioned. Despite not knowing the girl, Bailey felt rather guarded towards her. Not wanting her to feel compelled to do anything.

"Captain party pooper, calm down. We're just trying to have fun." For the first time since Bailey came, Steve took the initiative. Steve gave him a fleeting glance up and down, but nobody noticed.

Bailey gave him a quick glance as grief could be seen on his face. "Bailey, I can probably handle the drink, it won't hurt me." Barb said as she took the beverage.

Barb injured herself accidentally while attempting to cut the can. Nancy moved forwards as Bailey cast a troubled glance at her. She inquired, "Are you okay?" Bailey gave her a raised brow as she turned to face her. She was only now genuinely concerned for her friend.

Bailey was about to follow Barb to the bathroom when he suddenly fell backwards and water surrounded him. He felt like he was drowning instantly, and everything around him was muffled. When he eventually stood back up, he heard laughter all around. "didn't know you were a swimmer." Tommy made fun of him before Tommy and Carol dove in.

Bailey began to shake and feel as though he was about to explode from the inside as he shoved himself up against the wall. He had to get out of this position right away, so he got out of the pool by himself, which Steve observed because he was apparently keeping an eye on him. "Hey, you're a real ruiner of parties. Relax, it's just a pool." he said, turning to face him.

They all returned his gaze as he turned to face them. It was his first time attempting to get along with people, and he was embarrassing himself as a result of his anxiety. "Perhaps he's scared of the water." Tommy exclaimed, laughing uncontrollably. Bailey's eyes began to fill with tears, which made him feel even more foolish.

Bailey's body told him he had to get away,he felt like running. He therefore ran through the open door as it is what he did. He disregarded the cries for his name and the surrounding laughs.

Mr Simmons was standing in front of the automobile when he ran outside to find him. He approached it while making an effort to appear composed. "Are you okay, Bailey?" While helping him open the door, he inquired. Without truly knowing how to respond in full, a million possible responses raced through his mind.

Before getting in the car, he muttered, "I'm fine." The door then shut, leaving him alone in the dark vehicle with all of his emotions suddenly rushing out of him. Stupidly, he stared down at his hands as tears streamed down his cheeks. He thought he was crying for nothing, But it felt like everything.

Bailey came through his front door, spotting his parents standing there with smiles on their faces. "Oh darling, how was the part-" his mother's voice trailed off as he wrapped his arms tightly around her.

"You were right. " As he sniffled a small cry, he muttered to his mother. Florence held her son with as much sympathy as she could muster.

"Don't worry, it's okay, it's going to be okay" She looked at her husband, who had his arm around her waist. He looked at his son with concern. Wondering what had happened at the party.

"It's going to be okay."

- Chapter 3, we're in chapter three and it's party time. I wanted Barb and Bailey to have small interaction because I actually liked Barb's character before they killed her off.
